Rialto restaurante pizzería — Restaurant in Benijófar

We had intended to go to Melodies which is nearby. It was 8pm and less than half the tables in Melodies were taken but we were turned away because it was allegedly full. So we went to Rialto. So glad we did! The food was delicious and the service excellent. I had a pizza and my husband had the mixed grill. He said it was the best mushroom sauce he'd ever had! We walked back to the car and passed Melodies at 9:45pm and it was still less than half full. I told the woman out front that we had been turned away and she said the kitchen could only cope with a limited number of covers. How unprofessional. We had been visiting Rialto Restaurant for many years up until 2019. Then following a break for Covid etc we have returned this year, 2024, and are pleased to find that although they have new staff they are still warm and welcoming and the food is still excellent and great value for money. Just this evening we had a superb quality three course meal of garlic prawns, sirloin steak, desert, a bottle of wine, bottle of water and coffee for under 100 Euros, hard to beat in Spain and impossible to beat in the UK. DO NOT USE THIS RESTAURANT. Their card machine didn’t give tickets and said error. So they didn’t let us leave, I went to an ATM and paid in cash. They said if my payment went through twice not to worry as they would sort it. well the day after It went through and I called and they are refusing to give me my money back. It’s only 40 euros but still it’s 40 euros that’s not theirs. I said I would have another meal for takeaway instead of them having to pay the whole amount back and they’re being very rude.
