Here's a glowing review for Cevichef:
If you’re looking for a culinary experience that’s nothing short of exceptional, Cevichef in Bilbao is a must-visit. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere that perfectly complements their incredible food. Every dish is a delightful fusion of fresh flavors, with the ceviche being an absolute standout—zesty, refreshing, and beautifully balanced.
What truly sets Cevichef apart, though, is the top-notch service. The only server, Jota, delivers not just impeccable hospitality but also a personal touch that elevates the entire dining experience. His passion for the food and the art of mixology shines through in every interaction. Be sure to ask him for an espresso martini; it's the best in the city, perfectly crafted to give your evening the perfect finish.
Whether you’re a ceviche lover or simply looking for a new favorite spot in Bilbao, Cevichef is the place to go. With its extraordinary dishes and Jota’s unbeatable service, you’ll leave planning your next visit before you've even...
Read more3.5 stars. Comparing it to the quality of other places we've been in 2 weeks, this unfortunately doesn't make the top. The dishes are somewhat overpriced, and they recommend you to take 3, but you really only need 2 (unless you really can eat a lot of raw fish, I suppose). One of the combinations (more classic) ceviche was great, one was a bit too sweet and lacked a fresher twist. The concept with having Ceviche where you choose the "soup" (leche de tigre) is interesting though.
Pasta with crab was somewhat unbalanced (tasted mostly like crab, pasta consistency also not quite there, no other interesting flavours in the somewhat sweet sauce). The margarita was very sour and the twist of Cointreau that they talked about was just not present.
Overall, not bad, can't complain about quality, but seems to me something of an overhyped place with Instagram interior. For 100 EUR for 2 people you can do...
Read moreThis place is so good. Not many tables, so never crowded. On sunny days they serve in the terrace too. Food is superb and not pricey. It was 10 of us when we went, and timing serving everyone's food was on point. Zamburiñas (noix de Saint jaques), any cevitxe, the rice and the pasta are a must. They don't have much on the menu wich is great since they master every detail on the dishes. Desserts are also very fine, not sugary and full of flavour. If you like mango you should order the mango mousse dessert. Always call in advance, since its usually fully booked. Staff is supercool will help you through the menu, and the deco is worth taking...
