El León de Oro — Restaurant in Bilbao

Not one to write terrible reviews but I could not eat the food. Spring roll was inedible, was kind of flat and saturated in oil. The oil tasted like it had been reused as it tasted curried, as did my Chicken Shanghi dish, deep fried chicken thigh pieces in batter with no seasoning apart from a faint curry taste from the oil, no sauce and served with boiled rice, no condiments on the table. I went and got pintxos straight after leaving. I said to the young waiter that this is not representative of Chinese food and whoever cooked this should be ashamed. If you're a traveller craving Chinese cuisine, please do not waste your money...

El restaurante está al lado de otro restaurante chino, por lo que puede ser fácil equivocarte si andas buscandolo y no conoces la zona.

Por dentro le haría falta un repaso, el mobiliario es viejo y está desgastado. En las mesas no te ponen mantel, y la servilleta es de papel

Tienen varios tipos de menú con platos diferentes, tienen comida china españolizada y comida china auténtica.

Yo comí de entrante un rollito de primavera, que la verdad no me gustó y me lo sirvieron en un plato de postre... La salsa agridulce lo dan en un biberón que bueno, podía tener mejor presentación. Ensalada de medusa, me llamó la atención que llevara medusa, a pesar de que son comestibles, no es usual comerlo. La medusa no tiene sabor ninguno, o al menos lo enmascara el cilantro o la salsa con la que viene. No lo volvería a pedir. De segundo, fideos de arroz con gambas, especificar que son dos gambas 🦐 las que vienen, no vayáis a pensar que eso era un festival... Este plato estaba bueno y es lo que más me gustó. Por último pato asado, era el pato laqueado o Pekín en lonchas finas de toda la vida pero sin la crepe ni cebolleta/pepino. Viene en un cuenco con la salsa de hoisin. También estaba bueno.

I don’t know how to give this place a score less than this but I would if I could. The food was absolutely awful. Nothing at all like genuine Chinese food. On a very cold night it was also colder in the restaurant than outside, and no one put either of the gas heaters on. I have never given a negative review before but this time I had to warn others...
