La Brasa Canalla — Restaurant in Bilbao

SADLY a disappointing experience for me. After carefully going through so many amazing reviews i chose this particular restaurant to have some lunch, and even waited until 1.30pm. My burger did look appealing at the start but as im eating more and more i find all these small unfortunate things about it. The salad with the huge tomato on my burger wasn’t drained properly and made the bread soggy, the meat was quite tasteless, i asked for medium rare but it looked rare to me and got all mushy and didn’t look very nice. The fries tasted like they have been fried in old oil and all i could taste was some previous fried stuff and not really the potatoes. The service and the portion of the fries were the only highlight of my visit. Although a vast number of reviews say otherwise my experience here forces me not to come back or recommend it. I paid 20€ for a burger, fries and a coke. Perhaps...

WOW! This is one mighty, juicy and tasty burger! I decided to go for the double pattie (pure greed) Encurtido-Panceta-Queso burger (Bacon & Cheese with Pickled Onions and Chillies) along with regular sized portion of fries. I opted to have the burgers cooked pink and boy were they just that when I cut into the first one! The meat was deep pink at the centre and very tasty! Along with the thick bacon, blue cheese and the rest this burger was more than just big...it was massive! The picture does not do it justice! The fries were crispy and well salted and along with the sauces completed the dish very well indeed! If you don't quite like your burgers that pink then you can request them to be cooked a bit more. Anyways, if it's a top notch burger joint you're looking for in Bilbao then this is the place to...

Great burgers and fries. Definitely in the run for best burgers we ever had (and we try the so-called best burger in any city we travel to). Meat is good and most of the time on the bloody side of the spectrum. If you want it in the range of medium to well-done mention it to the waiters! Craft beers are also quite good and change regularly. Design of the restaurant is on point but definitely targets young, alternative people as does the background music.
