HIMALAYA CURRY AND TANDOORI RESTAURANT BILBAO — Restaurant in Bilbao

ate here today (28th october 2023) at just after 17:00 with my brother, we were the only ones in the restaurant where we were made to sit at a table that wasnt made up, despite there being every other (empty) table already made up. Anyway, we order and we were pushed to order more because of the hour and this and that and the other etc .... despite us not being hungry enough to order more. We ordered mango chicken to share and he told us it was poco pero it was enough for us but he continued to push and push us to order more. We had already ordered 2 drinks, a samosa, naan alongside the chicken and he kept coming over to make comments about how we should have ordered more - i have never eaten anywhere that has judged me for not ordering 'enough food' and the owner making comments about it... Anyway my advice - DONT visit this establishment unless you want to eat luke warm, meh at best food and where the owner tries to overcharge you by 12 euros, even though the ticket said 26.10...we pointed this out and he then put the wrong number in again to the card machine until finally he realised that we knew what he was doing. The one thing about this place that didn’t sit right was that they had the Om symbol everywhere, yep were serving meat dishes.

It honestly came across as really tone-deaf, Om isn’t just a cool design, it’s a spiritual symbol with deep meaning.

It felt like they were using Indian culture as a ‘vibe’ rather than showing any real understanding or respect for it. If you’re going to represent a culture, especially a religion, at least do it properly.

Probably the food is good.. but I can’t say anything about it because we were forced to leave after not even 10 minutes. We ordered a first course and a main dish to share because we weren’t hungry and DRINKS for everyone, but the waitress refused to take the order because it was “not enough” and tried to force us into ordering more even though we told her that we are not that hungry. It was really uncomfortable and in the end we left. Not a good...
