I went on holidays to Bilbao (Spain) with my two female friends.
We wanted to go out one night, but everything closes very early in Bilbao. Most bars had shut their doors at 22:00 (10 pm). Upon asking around, we got recommended Mystik, as that would be one of two bars still open at 23:00 (11 pm).
It was a terrible decision to go here. The bar was filled with thirsting men, who acted like they had never seen three young women before. They wouldn't leave us alone, even when we said we weren't interested. They luckily didn't get physical, but it was unpleasant nonetheless.
The woman serving us drinks was also insanely rude. She did not understand a single word of English, and just walked away after saying some Spanish things to me. The bar was also filled with layers upon layers of liquor bottles, but she found herself unable to mix something for me. When I asked for a Pornstar Martini, I received a dry white martini with no mix-ins. The immensely loud music didn't help with the communication either.
The looks she kept giving us when we ordered drinks would make anyone want to leave. But again, it's either this, El Galeon, or nothing in Bilbao when it comes to a night out.
Another woman at the bar later corrected the martini mistake by kindly adding vermouth to my drink. But it was dissatisfying anyways.
The music was disappointing as well, as for some reason, all clubs or bars in Spain only play some type of homemade Spanish playlist with no famous songs whatsoever.
Just get a few bottles from a local Chinese store and enjoy some drinking games with your friends, cosily in...
Read moreThe music is kinda ok sometimes, the drinks are quite expensive. Didn’t feel comfortable that much at that place, the waiters were rude. I understand that this work is not that easy, but at the same time.. saying ‘thank you’ would be nice. And almost no one spoke English. I get that not everyone needs it. But when you work in a club/bar/restaurant, and you know that the city is not that small.. expect...
Read moreVery-very expensive drinks (about twice the level I have met in Bilbao so far). Also the music was so loud you couldn't speak to the person sitting next to you, but you couldn't dance either because the floor was covered with tables. The bartenders didn't understand the very simplest requests in English. The interior design was nice, but still I wouldn't recommend, and especially not...
