Restaurante @ Hotel del Parador de Cádiz — Restaurant in Cádiz

Nice food but nothing special. We had a set-menu lunch on 25th of July 24’ as a part of a spa deal. Paying €70 per person for access to pool and lunch it’s like €40 per person for lunch. The portions were decent and food was fresh but nothing special on the taste. The truffle egg with veg was missing truffle. My fried fish platter was huge, but we had better in town for way lower price. My main dish being corvina with clams was nice, but again I had better in cheaper restaurants. The rice was nice taste but had only 1 gambas 🦐 and the rest were regular prawns. Bread was fresh and really tasty and so as the desert especially the chocolate mousse ☺️. Service was also polite, but could maybe smile a bit more. Not even 1 Drink was included in the package which for that price is a bit disappointing. For that price and class of restaurant it didn’t wow me.

Buena comida pero nada especial. Comimos un menú fijo el 25 de julio de 24' como parte de una oferta de spa. Pagando 70€ por persona por el acceso a la piscina y la comida, son como 40€ por persona por la comida. Las porciones eran decentes y la comida era fresca pero nada especial en el sabor. Al huevo trufado con verduras le faltaba trufa. Mi plato de pescado frito era enorme, pero puedes encontrar mejor en la ciudad por mucho menos precio. Mi plato principal era corvina con almejas era agradable, pero de nuevo he tenido mejor en restaurantes más baratos.

El arroz estaba rico de sabor pero solo tenía 1 langostino 🦐 y el resto eran gambas normales. El pan era fresco y muy sabroso, así como el postre, especialmente la mousse de chocolate ☺️. El servicio también fue educado, pero tal vez podría sonreír un poco más. Ni siquiera 1 bebida estaba incluida en el paquete que por ese precio es un poco decepcionante. I was not impressed by this restaurant at all. First, the service was poor and disorganized. They forgot several things we ordered, and we had to wait a long time to get the servers attention, each and every time. Second, the food was below average for a Parador. The food seemed to have been prepared earlier in the day and heated to serve. This may be alright for some dishes, but not for a sirloin steak (solomillo de ternera) nor a pork steak (presa iberica). We have been three times at the Parador Restaurant in the last 12 months. Two times at lunch and one time for dinner. Service was always very good and so was the food and the choice of wines. The interior design in very well choosen and the view is also very nice. As said service was impecable the food was a very good selection from local to spanish classics. We are going regularynoutbin Cadiz from Arebol, Sonambulo, Faro, cielo, Contrasenan and find this a hidden gem looking at the price service relation. We like it and we will continue to go and can...
