Aku — Restaurant in Córdoba

AVOID! Deliberate pricing scam. All mains showing the same sauce/rice combo were on display under cling film and labelled €7.50 but after eating our two choices the bill was presented showing €10. Turns out the two we went for were an exception! We asked where is the label showing €10 but she couldn’t answer as there was none. She became very pushy and insistent but we held our ground and pointed out that even the full printed menu did not show ANY main dish costing €10. At this point she hastily hand wrote a price tag for €10 and attached it to one of the dishes in question! We adamantly refused to pay anymore and told her to call the police whilst we wait. She called the food hall manager and continued her insistence that we pay €10. The guy told us he did his best to persuade her that she should accept the ‘hit’ as she’d finally admitted it was their mistake to not show the true price. We put an end to it by leaving what we fully intended to pay from the start on the counter and walked away. The food is tasty but in our opinion it seems clear they have a deliberate policy of misleading customers who are to a large degree tourists and they are obviously taking advantage of the language barrier. Excellent food quality and service. The workers explained each plate to us clearly with an excellent attitude. Their English was ok and understandable, not necessarily perfect. Despite there being a bit of confusion sometimes, they explained it over and over again so I could understand. I will definitely come back to eat next time when I visit Córdoba. It's a tourist-friendly restaurant, and hopefully, when I visit there next time, the worker could improve their English even better. La comida riquísima y tiene una gran variedad. Great food. There of us visiting from America found this small eatery inside an American-style indoor mall for a quick bite. It was siesta time for most of Spaniards but this restaurant was still open. We ordered 3 dishes, and the friendly lady owner cooked the food all by herself for us, and it was a treat. We had the entire eating area (very spacious and clean) all to ourselves. Food were delicious and reasonably priced. My kid loved his dish.
