Had decided to go to Córdoba as part of trip to coastal Andalusia and we were taken by the photos on website of rooms with iron balconies and French doors with shutters onto the plaza de correadores. In the event we arrived, in fairness in the hour after we had ticked we hoped to arrive. (7pm instead of 5-6pm). There is no reception on site. We presented to the waiter in the Tapas bar below and he phoned immediately to "reception" in the event over 20 minutes later a very pleasant and informative young man arrived on his bicycle to introduce us to our room. Very disappointed when instead of the glorious rooms with shuttered doors etc onto square, we were ushered to back room. ||||Perfectly adequate if not expecting something different. Small double clean and pretty but with window looking out onto low roof obviously over kitchen on back and not much else. I as is my wont expressed my feelings politely and the young man kindly immediately contacted the boss but no option to change room. We were however offered free breakfast for the 2 mornings we would be staying from the tapas bar downstairs. ||||We didn't feel had any other option but to accept. We did take the advice of our young guide re getting to the Mesquite @ 8.30 in am for a half hour of free entry. We did all the rest of our desired wandering and by 11.30 felt we didn't want to prolong our stay in our less attractive room given that we still had the option of returning to the wonderful resort on the Costa that was still ours to occupy for a further 48 hours. Incidentally from 11.30pm on the Thursday night we spent there til well after midnight, the noise level from our back facing window was terrible as the kitchen staff from our own and other establishments finished up for the night. ||||We were delighted with our travels in both directions to Córdoba avoiding motorway, past various areas of "embalses" ||||Incidentally compensatory breakfast was nice including freshly...
