I'm really sorry to say, that after coming here many times and loving the food (especially for the vegan pizzas), we will not return.
Today, we walked half an hour just for the pizza and were super excited. Unfortunately, we found out after we sat down that the pay hadn't come in as it should and money had gone out of the account so we basically could only afford one pizza and pay between two cards.
When we got there, there were no tables outside and when we asked (we couldn't take the dog inside), one employee was nice about it (he drove the home deliveries) but the cook was pretty rude in his way of communicating which put me off. But my partner still wanted the pizza and we decided to leave the dog outside and sit by the table by the window to keep an eye out on her. Just then, the nice guy came out to set up a table, my partner helped him and we ordered the one pizza we could afford.
The nice guy left to drive home delivery.
So the one serving us was the grumpy cook. When he came out the bill (that we still hadn't asked for), he first denied me paying with two cards. I explained that it's the only option I had. He then came out and threw rude comments in the air that we came there, made them set up a table outside, only ordered a pizza and now wanted to pay with two cards.. so rude, in fact, I was tempted to leave without paying. I do not get easily offended. And this was a very bad situation for us too as we would have loved to order more food!
Thing is, the restaurant did not just loose two returning customers due to the worst rudeness I've had in years. By not treating us with respect as paying customers.
We run a local travel blog where we have warmly recommended travelers to go to the restaurant because we loved it so much! The restaurant will be removed from all blog posts receiving thousands of readers each month.
We were also going to promote the restaurants on two Youtube channels because we loved it. That didn't happen.
Just a reminder that you never know who your customers are and each customer should be treated with respect no matter what their situation is at the given visit (take that from one that has worked in hospitality for years, in Spain among other countries)
I know you are usually packed and don't need our promotion for your business. But you should really treat your customers...
Read moreafter a long afternoon with the kids we were happy to find this highly rated pizzeria with high emphasis on good communication and welcoming service in a well maintained and clean location.
We ordered two pizzas to go and the ham, cheese and mushroom pizza was absolutely stellar with a beautifully thin pie and fluffy and crunchy crust/edges perfectly cooked, charred but not burned. The other one, the carbonara was less perfect with the egg overcooked and big chunks of bacon rather than smaller pieces, but that’s subjective I guess.
The biggest complaint I could even think about the pizzas and I have to get really petty at this point, they weren’t cut up into slices which should definitely be a standard when you’re ordering take away. Sitting in the park and sharing pizza by trying to rip it up with your hands somewhat symmetrically is not very practical but with that being my biggest complaint about the pizza itself, it is needless to say that the rest of the experience was absolutely spot on, and that comes from me, the son of a pizza baker.
The only reason why I couldn’t give it a full five stars is that they charged us incorrectly but tired as we were and absolutely exhausted after a long day, we were not in the mood to get into a discussion. So the mistake is of course theirs, but the choice was ours not to bring it up. We just wanted our food as quickly as possible and happy to consider the extra few euros as tip after having devoured our delicious lunch.
Sidenote, if you are considering take away and it’s a nice day, there’s a lovely big park only 500 m away to enjoy your food. but don’t forget to tell them to slice the pie before...
Read moreWe had dinner with a larger, vegan-vegetarian group at "Pizzeria Verde Rucola". For a larger group, it is definitely advisable to book in advance, because there are not many seats and from my Cordobese friends I heard that the pizzeria is well known. However, the reservation is a real challenge. I had written an email a week in advance, and was told to call a day or two before. When I then called two days before, I was told to call again the next day. I did not understand the reason for this. Was pretty annoying, especially when you come with such a large group and only know the day before if you can really come. The pizzas (including 10 vegan options) were very tasty and were praised even by the Italians in our group. It is also great that you can put together your own pizza. A bit of a shame with such a large group was that we only ever got three pizzas at a time (probably because there was no more room in the oven) and so some had already eaten up when others were just getting their pizza. Can't be changed, I guess. Also the ambience could have been a bit cozier. But the music was fun! The waitress was friendly and even made us aware of a 3-for-2 offer, through which we got four pizzas for free. In the end, including drinks, we only paid just under 8 euros each! We are already planning...
