Our recent dinner at Restaurante Cosmopolitan Food was a generally enjoyable experience, marked by friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, and a dish that—despite a few surprises—still managed to impress the taste buds.

We ordered the chicken and vegetable paella, a classic choice we were quite looking forward to. While the name suggested a medley of vegetables accompanying the chicken, what arrived was a dish that featured just one lone vegetable among the rice and protein. We also requested garlic bread, hoping for that familiar, toasted crunch and punchy garlic butter. What we received instead were plain rolls and a packet of crackers. While not unpleasant, this substitution was unexpected and not mentioned beforehand. We would have appreciated a quick heads-up from the kitchen or server, as it might have influenced our choice.

Speaking of the service, our waiter was warm, courteous, and attentive despite clearly being very busy. He moved briskly between tables, managing multiple orders with grace and a genuine smile. We appreciated his efforts to check in and maintain a pleasant rapport with guests even in the middle of what seemed like a full dining room. It’s always a pleasure to be served by someone who clearly cares about the customer experience.

Sat down, waited 7-8 minutes, saw no server. Went inside and ordered coffee. Few minutes later the coffee was delivered outside to our table. We tried to place a breakfast order when the coffee was delivered, but the server waved us "no". Waited several minutes more, while he walked around the tables, clearing dishes, taking someone else's order and disappearing. Returned a few minutes later and begins to clear the menus from the tables, but skips ours. I get up, walk to him and ask if we must place our order ourselves inside. He says "no, what do you want?". I ordered English breakfast, he say no. I asked why not. He said it was too late. It was exactly 12:00 and we had been sitting for 15 minutes waiting to order. He gave me a new "lunch" menu then. Looking for a salad tonight and they had a nice Cesar. Ordered Paella as well. Food was good. Waiter was nice. Suggested sharing plates. Nice wine menu. Don’t know why people are giving this place bad reviews. Responding to some others complaints..Yes, no Tapas, then walk on. Its not a taps bar. It’s odd to see prices on beer menu, then ask. No free olives, that’s typical of many tapas bars yes, but not all place, get over it. Tourist prices, yup, you in the middle of the old town. smack square in the middle of tourist shops, so yes, more expensive than a local neighborhood.
