Read about the restaurant as it had Michelin’s Bib Gourmand. Asked the clerk at our hotel if he recommended any Cordoba restaurants, as well his thoughts on El Envero. His quick reply: “if you don’t mind a 5 minute taxi, then you must go to El Envero. I was there with my girlfriend last year and it is spectacular”. High praise from a local, and we made a 930pm reservation.
After a quick 5 min taxi from the historical centre, we pull up to an unassuming restaurant. Three sections to the restaurant: Bar, dining room and terrazza. Even though restaurant was quiet at 930pm, terrazza seemed to be most lively. (However dining room looked fantastic).
Over the next two hours, the restaurant filled up, and every seat on the large terrazza was filled; the bar also was filled with people. I believe we were the only tourists. All Spaniards, all well dressed, out with friends / family on a Friday night.
All of the food was spectacular. We split all of the following: mango salmoreja, duck foie gras, prawn carpaccio appetizer, tuna tartar and then beef / solomillo, and dessert torrejas. The prawn tartar and the torrejas were particular stand-outs.
All of the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Even though their English was limited and my Spanish is abysmal, the staff were engaged and helpful. The staff also prevented us from over ordering, and directed us to a less expensive carne option!
At 130 euros, including bottle of wine, two cocktails and an incredible selection of food…. The entire experience should be considered a bargain, given the fantastic service and quality of the meal.

Bien merece su distintivo Bid Gourmand 😋(Guia michelin) y Solete☀️(Guia Repsol) pues ofrecen una excelente calidad-precio. 🐟Carpaccio de higos con boquerones. Empezamos con un fuera de carta. Consiste en unos boquerones en vinagre con un toque dulce, tipo mermelada. Interesante. -🔥🥔Patatas hojaldradas con salsa brava y alioli de perejil. Finas láminas superpuestas. Punto de cocción de la patata muy bueno. 🍖Roast beef de presa ibérica macerado en ceniza con salsa romesco de anacardos, alcachofitas fritas y queso de cabra. Plato que no debes perderte. Sabor de la carne, brutal. Muy buen combo de ingredientes. 🦐Fideos tostados con gamba alistada, choco y alioli en salsa verde. Otro fuera de carta. El plato en su conjunto nos encantó. Un fondo de sabor potente donde el sabor del marisco es el protagonista. -🐂🍷 Lasaña crujiente de guiso de rabo de vacuno con bechamel de foie y reducción de vino al oporto. Uno de nuestros favoritos. Nos vuelven a sorprender con un concepto diferente de lasaña donde sustituyen la pasta por una masa crujiente y aireada. La carne guisada era un espectáculo. Su sabor, potenciado por el vino, era suavizado por esa bechamel cremosa de foie. 🥩 Solomillo de vaca madurada, con patatas francesas, cebollitas risoladas y salsa bordelesa. Plato típico en la región francesa de Burdeos, pues usan vino de la zona para reducir esta salsa. Carne tierna, jugosa, de sabor exquisito. Muy buen producto y salsa para no dejar de mojar pan. -🍰🍊Torrija caramelizada, empapada de leche fresca de azahar con helado de mantequilla tostada. ¡¡La mejor torrija que vas a probar nunca!! Cubierta por una capa de caramelo tostado. Su interior extra tierno, rezuma jugosidad. Postre de sobresaliente. -🧀Tarta de queso al horno con helado de dulce de leche y fresas silvestres. De esas texturas que nos encantan. Predomina ese punto salado del queso sobre el dulce.

I especially liked the white shrimp tartar, the tuna tataki (please you MUST try it!), the green pea, the duck truffle rolll and the lamb with masala sauce- divine! Oh and definitely can’t miss the lemon dessert- so refreshing! (Cheesecake is also good). Our initial server didn’t speak too much English but was kind and helpful. The other ladies that later on helped us were super nice too.
