Rest. Córdoba La Bicicleta — Restaurant in Córdoba

I live in Córdoba since 4 years and know well this place since then, and actually avoid going to La Bicicleta. It is charming but the service is a complete disaster! 2 out of each 3 times I go there had to wait for almost 30 minutes to have a simple drink. Like last time, 25 minutes for a juice (they're known for smoothies) in which half the glass was ice and the other half was mousse. Almost no juice in it. Or once before, 20 minutes at the BAR, to have a simple beer, with the house half empty. By the way, don't even think of getting in here if it's full. Once I've been there with friends who dragged me in there to have dinner, 3 groups came after us, all 3 had their meals before us. Dined on 25.10.24. Ordered the anchovy pate and jamon plate with fresh tomatoes. Jarmon dish was nice, not so the pate. Service commenced well and friendly, however increasing declined over the night, to the point of complete ignorance whenever we politely requested service. You need to be aware of a slight trick when ordering wine by glass vs bottle. We thought we were ordering by bottle, as glass servings reduced by ,over 50% by end of meal. When asked (after a long wait) we were told it was by the glass but no substantiation given for erratic servings! We suspect instruction came from the head operator (guy with beard) to do so, and we just felt ignored which was disrespectful. If reading this sir, you know you did this! Would I go back? The service was okay, but they all look exhausted and not very enthusiastic. The seats were uncomfortable.

I had the hummus plate. It said it was with vegetables. For the price I expected some lovely grilled courgette, roasted pepper that kind of thing.

What I got was a huge portion of hummus with not enough bread and some very roughly chopped raw vegetables. It was served in a deep dish so every time you tried to skewer some veg it disappeared into the sludge.

The hummus itself was not creamy but rather sour and it was loaded with raw cumin powder. It looked chucked together and when you looked at the menu, everything was assembled rather than cooked.

The toilet was utterly foul. Blocked and filled to the brim with other people's bodily waste. Unusable and a health hazard.
