I had been referred to this bar a year ago to try the Montilla-Moriles they serve. This year I stopped in for their Menú del Dia at 13:30, and the place got packed on a Tuesday and it took 2 hours before I was served my postre and paid. So it’s very popular, but understaffed, so you can’t be in a hurry. I had the Salmorejo con jamón, which had less tomato than every other version I have tasted, but with a clearly peppery undernote as this version leans more on the bread and oil. We had such a lovely dinner here! The barman was friendly when we went inside to order drinks upon arrival. We then asked if we could sit outside for dinner and he said yes, he'll bring us menus.
We had a massive dinner of vegetarian tapas, with water, white wine and beer. We also received complimentary bread, olives, cheese and ham.
This is definitely a local hangout!! We only had spaniards around us! And even the staff had very limited English. There is an English menu but it's more a sign of friendliness than being commercial.
Very affordable, delicious,...
