El Santo PIZZERÍA Steak House. — Restaurant in Calp

We had a reservation at 8:00 PM and arrived on time. Our order was taken, but we then had to wait at least an hour and a half before receiving our food. When the waiter finally came to ask if we wanted to order, it became clear that he had completely forgotten about us. This was not communicated, but his body language made it obvious. Five minutes later our food arrived, without any apology.

Unfortunately, the quality was very disappointing: the food was cold, the steak was clearly not 300 grams as advertised on the menu, and the lamb chops consisted mostly of bone and fat. On top of that, two identical dishes were served differently. When we asked about this, the waitress told us that the missing sauce should simply be shared between the two plates.

The service overall was also very poor: no one checked on us anymore, we had to ask for additional drinks ourselves, and empty glasses were left on the table. At the end I mentioned that I was not satisfied with either the meal or the service. Although I received a small compensation, we still left the restaurant hungry and...

Pizza was burned, the waiter said that three dishes that we wanted and were on the menu weren’t available. Lasagne… well the chef should have learned better. Perhaps it used to be a good restaurant but in my experience this is not the case anymore. To be honest, the cafe and dessert was great but overall I would not recommend neither will I go again. Don’t have more photos but the one of burned pizza. Hopefully the restaurant will take this and improve. The place is great and it would be shame if they don’t improve and learn from quite a few mistakes they make. I wish them all the best and perhaps in a long run I ll try again.

My family and I went on a Friday evening at 7:45 pm and did not need a reservation (you will need one if you are dining after 9 pm). My husband and I both got the BBQ mix plate, which includes: sausage, steak, pork, and chicken (cooked to temp), served with potatoes, cabbage, and chimichurri.The meats were grilled perfectly and well-seasoned. One of my daughters had the margherita pizza without olives, and the other had the lasagna con carne. If your kid is from the US, the pizza and lasagna are different here (before people get all angry with me, having been to Italy several times, it's also different from Italy). The center of the lasagna, though the sauce arrived bubbling, was cold. The margherita pizza was lovely, but the basil is really a pesto. The service was prompt...
