This has been a highlight of our trip in Calp. We had tried other restaurants like Capri on the beachfront and Abiss but this one has been miles ahead of both places for price, the quality of food and the service. Our waiter was funny, attentive and really explained the menu well to us making sure we didn't order way too much food (which we easily could have done with tapas). The menu may not be 4 pages long but don't let this put you off, they instead seem to opt for fewer dishes but done really well, which I prefer. We ordered prawns in garlic butter and the sardines in vinegar to start. Not to be overdramatic but the fish was so fresh I could nearly hear Ariel singing "Under the sea". After, we had the black pudding with chickpeas and goats cheese on pear. Halfway through we were nearly full but couldn't stop eating it, it was so delicious. For dessert we had chocolate truffles and the chocolate ice-cream with egg white liqueur. The only reason we didn't finish it was we were one seam shy of indecent exposure. If I had an additional stomach I would have went for round 2 that same night to taste the rest of the menu. For the bread with aioli, 4 tapas dishes, 2 desserts, a bottle of white wine and a bottle of water the total came to €79. An absolute steal in my opinion for that quality. The atmosphere was very relaxed and beautifully lit and no doubt we'll back again before...
Read moreI recently had the most incredible dining experience at this hidden gem of a restaurant. From the moment I stepped onto the charming, narrow street where it's nestled, I knew I was in for something special. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with tables set outside to enjoy the perfect weather.
Now, let's talk about the food. Words can hardly do justice to the exquisite dishes they serve. It was so phenomenal that my companions and I couldn't resist booking a second dinner just to savor more items from their extensive menu. Each dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They are not just waiters; they are culinary guides who helped us navigate the menu and made thoughtful recommendations. We were so excited about the choices that we tried to order more than we could handle, but they kindly intervened, ensuring we had a delightful dining experience without overindulging.
In summary, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The cozy atmosphere, the tantalizingly tasty food, and the welcoming vibe all combine to create an unforgettable dining adventure. I can confidently say that this place has secured a permanent spot on my list of...
Read moreWe loved everything about our experience here! The tapas was incredible. People must ignore the average 4.4 rating here on Google - it is far better than that. It is situated in a beautiful, old, rustic, house in the old town. Off the beaten track, but worth the walk to find it. The lamb was exceptional, as were all the dishes we tried. Filipe, our kind, attentive, and fun waiter, looked after us brilliantly and offered great suggestions. He didn't want us to be over-faced so recommended that we'd ordered enough - we really appreciated that kind of service! The music was not what we expected but was great, a medley of 70s 80s and 90s tunes. It added to the lovely atmosphere and was fun. We are planning to go back again tomorrow before we leave Calpe because we enjoyed it so much. The best meal we've had of an exceptional week of food experiences (and I research carefully to find the best places 😋) pictures...
