TajMahal Portals — Restaurant in Calvià

Hugely impressed with this restaurant. It reminded me in style of some of the better Indian restaurants I went into when I lived in London in the 1980s. Focused on the visual culture of India, rather than some generic modern day design which suggests you could be in any cuisine of any culture when you were sitting in one.

The TajMahal Portals is actually run by Indian people. Whereas so many Indian restaurants are run by people from countries nearby. The food and the intense flavours of each dish was sublime. Portions were extremely generous and were served in a traditional style of presentation, which made them even more of a pleasure to eat.

At the end of the meal, they even had the courtesy to ring for a taxi for us. Unlike some other places on the holiday that said it wasn’t possible to do that.

What a fantastic Indian restaurant. We visited last night, 4 ladies. Had a lovely welcome & quickly brought menus & drinks order taken. We couldn't fault anything as all our dishes had individual flavours & were piping hot. We shared 3 dishes, rice & 2 nan breads. Good quality ingredients & tender meat.
