I don't even know where to begin..... I'm going to start with the pros food was excellent... but and there's a big but now after spending £60 on a few tapas and drinks that were lovely my partner went to the toilet and keeping in mind we were not a stag do a hen party or even a big Group there was just the two of us enjoying tapas and drinks as stated he went to the toilet 15 minutes later he still wasn't back I got a phone call from him to say that he has been locked in the toilet and can I call someone to help him... to be honest at first I thought it was hilarious I couldn't believe it romantic day and he got stuck in the toilet so I went to the manager who seems really lovely at first he instantly reached for a knife and tried to unlock the door from the outside so I assumed this was quite a regular thing and he would be out within a minute, half an hour later the chef the manager and a waiter was still trying to get him out it wasn't funny anymore it was a very tight cubicles no air space and panic started to set in I stated to the manager if we physically could not get him out we would have to call the Fire Brigade to try and get the door off because this is getting silly now the manager didn't really seem to be that fussed on helping and started serving other people again I stress to him if he wasn't going to call the Fire Brigade then I was, all of a sudden the friendly manager wasn't so friendly started stating things about f* British how he had done this on purpose how he had broken his door how he didn't need this today of all days and that we had done this etc etc etc most of it I couldn't understand as it was in Spanish but I could tell by the tone on his voice that he wasn't very happy ... about 40 minutes later the three members of staff decided to try and kick down the door eventually it did work and he was out of the toilet ...now I would have assumed it could have gone a completely different way to the way it did... me I assumed we would offer be offered a complimentary drink a little bit of a laugh and joke and an apology oh no that wasn't the case we got chucked out the restaurant as if we've done something wrong shouted at and yet again abuse about English I'm absolutely disgusted the way that the people acted and word-of-mouth is a great thing and I would just like to advise any people going there to be very careful because they are not nice people at all I'm appalled at the language and shocked that we f* British wanted to break his toilet etc etc I go Spain often and I would never ever recommend this place...
Read moreMy wife's birthday today. She wanted some traditional tapas. I couldn't get through on the phone so my wife and I walked the 2 km to get to the restaurant at lunchtime and we booked a table for 19:30 later that evening. A Tuesday. We arrived at the restaurant on time this evening, but no reservation was evident. The place was packed. We were directed to sit at a table. There were no place settings or cuttlery or anything. We sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. "I'll be with you in a moment", the waitress told us. And we waited. And waited. And then I watched as two other groups were welcomed into the restaurant by the manager and seated, orders were taken and yet we were still sitting unattended too. I went up to the manager and said I was unhappy as we had not had anyone take our order yet. "I am sorry, there have been staff off, but I am resolving it now." Another 15 minutes later our order was taken. We waited and waited. Still no place settings, no cutlery, no drinks. 45 minutes after we had walked in, we got up and left. We went down the road to NOVAeTAPA and got a warm welcome, excellent service and fantastic tapas! So things happen for a...
Read moreThe food is actually good, albeit overpriced. The service on the other hand is absolutely diabolical! We went in as a group of 8 and ordered food and drinks and specifically asked for the food to all come at once. We were given bread and olives, with no information so assumed it was complimentary as there was no mention on the menu either. The food began to arrive, however 2 people in the group were waiting over 45 minutes for theirs to arrive. We asked and were told it had been forgotten, at which point everyone else had finished. No apology. We said we no longer wanted them and asked for the bill. At this point we discovered they'd charged us €14 for 2 baskets of bread and a handful of olives that we had not asked for or been told we would be charged for. When querying it, we were told it was our own fault for assuming it was complimentary. We then were massively overcharged as the waitress was incapable of calculating the bill and we were accused of not paying correctly deliberately! Absolutely atrocious and would strongly advise anyone thinking of going to avoid...
