RESTAURANTe CP8 — Restaurant in Cartagena

Not so busy the icon says as you scroll around google maps in an apparent idealic location in cabo de pallos. CB8 restaurant was empty at 8pm and my wife and I decided to give them the business with a really cool vista across the harbour. Within 2 minutes I knew this was a mistake as the scruffy black clad young waiter veered off his mobile and asked us what we would like to drink. After a full week of fabulous Spanish hospitality I thought this was a joke. Anyway a German family arrived and sat behind us and the most interesting thing for the next hour was feeding the wee birds on the quayside. Ok the entrade was good but the follow up main course for 2 at 44 euro ala Lobster rice was desperately underwhelming tasteless reused rubbish. There you go meanwhile an evening at CB8 with one 7 people ponders ons. The two staff on their phones get paid anyway. What a performance of 1 star...

The place has a perfect spot overlooking the sea, perfect for sunset watching however when we visited it was extremely windy hence wasn't a pleasant experience to be seated outside. The overall interior decor and vibe was modern and impressive however the menu seemed rather regular. We were hoping for a twist / surprise from the taste of the food however was left rather disappointed. Not sure if it was our poor choice of selection but besides the random inclusion of wasabi mayo and mustard sauce, there was nothing out of extraordinary about the food nor experience. I went to this restaurant a few days ago and I can confirm their service was utterly horrendous. My mother had their tuna dish which may I say looked like something I would serve my dog, it was also a very small portion for a main meal. When it came to the end of the night we tried to ask for our bill but the employees were to busy pretending to be night club security with their ear pieces rather than paying attention to what was going on around them.
