We had some mixed feelings about this particular restaurant - one of many eating establishments dotted around the small harbour here. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I don't really like being pimped by the waiters to eat at their place. They tend to do this is a friendly and harmless manner but nonetheless... One was amusing himself by taking photos of passers by with their smartphones and then jokingly trying to sell the smartphones to restaurant guests. All harmless fun really.
Anyway we succumbed to the persuasive "skills" of the guy out front particularly as he promised "chuleton" which is what I was looking for on that particular evening. We sat outside and ordered our drinks - beer and water. All good.
As a starter to share we went for the nachos with guacamole followed by my chuleton & my wife's pizza. As we were tucking in to the nachos, another waiter came by to say that they had run out of chuleton. We decided to cancel and move on. But before we could make a move, another waiter came to say that they had found one in the kitchen... OK, fair enough. Then, yet another waiter came to say that they didn't have what I had ordered. This was now getting ridiculous until a further member of staff came to absolutely reassure me that my meal was there after all. Confusion reigned between all the waiters, it seems. And, yes, in the end I did get my steak which was a bit chewy but then, it only cost 22,60€. I would have liked a glass of wine with the meal but I gave up trying to order new things.
Towards the end of the evening as the place thinned out we had a chance to chat more with one of the younger male waiters who seemed to know what he was doing. He was even patient with my faltering Spanish. And so, replenished with two cortados, we left having paid a modest 54€ for the...

Read moreWent to this restaurant on their last day of the season and we were treated like absolute garbage. In fact my in laws didn’t stand it and left the table before ordering. I stayed as not much more was open and my son needed to eat ( the MR. Jaume next door already had been beyond rude to us). I understand it was end of season however I had asked what they had left on the menu, was told everything but one dish and in fact they only had a very reduced selection. No issue, had they told us in one of the few times we asked. I ordered some chipirones and they served puntillas. Again I was charged for chipirones and those were in fact the cheaper, fried puntillas. I’m glad I don’t have to come back. Save yourself the experience and visit Can Joan. He also had a reduced selection but was clear, respectful and...
