Platja de Son Xoriguer — Attraction in Ciutadella

The morning we arrived in Ciutadella, we were relatively late (12:00/12:30) to go to one of the most famous beaches of the south (Macarella, Son Saura, Turqueta). Consequently, we were looking for a nice alternative.

True to be told, also because of several online reviews, Xoriguer seemed not the best choice but, on the other hand, it was also the closest option to reach in that moment, in order not to waste to whole day.

What to say ? The sandy beach is not too long but the color of the water is amazingly crystalline and the access to the sea very easy.

Moreover, on the Camí de Cavalls from Xoriguer to Cala en Bosch, there are plenty of small coves, where we actually stopped. Small paradises.

Xoriguer is a good place to practice water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking or paddle surfing...

Busy but nice beach. Very gradual gradient and lovely gentle waves. Hired pedalo which was great fun. Just around the corner is another cove (good for snorkelling) which is also beautiful. Look out for warning flags and 'jellyfish flags'-apparently they get blown in now and again- "follow the locals" best advice we had-they will always know when is safe and when not. Well worth a visit if nearby. Beautiful harbour of Cala en Bosch five minute walk away, lots of lovely shops/ restaurants and a time but nice...

Wir besuchten den Platja de Son Xoriguer (Cala en Bosc) am 03. September, einem Dienstag. Der Strand war von Menschenmassen bevölkert und das Meer war aufgrund der vielen Badegäste trüb. Aus einem nahegelegenen Hotel drang die Animation zu uns herüber. Die Rettungsschwimmer und der Bootsverleiher pfiffen immer wieder bestimmend auf ihren Pfeifen, um einige unaufmerksame Badegäste auf ihren Tretbootwasserrutschen zu warnen, die sich entweder in gesperrten Gewässern aufhielten oder die Verleihzeit überschritten hatten. Leider war es nicht möglich, sich in Ruhe zu entspannen. Das Meer war jedoch herrlich angenehm warm mit ein paar kühleren Oberflächenströmungen. Der helle Sandstrand war trotz der vielen Strandtücher noch zu erkennen. Das Meer fiel sehr weit flach ab und gelegentlich zog ein leichter Faulgasgeruch über die Wasseroberfläche. Möglicherweise ist der Strand in der Nebensaison ein angenehm ruhiges und wunderschönes Plätzchen, aber zu unserem Besuch war es leider nicht so. Am Späten Nachmittag zog ein...
