I really enjoyed this place and what's important it was open around 5:30pm when all the other places were closed until 8pm. Sorry, I was hungry at 5:30pm and wanted to eat. Was about give up and go to KFC when I found this place and that made me very happy 😁 For starters I ordered bread and some Spanish meats and worried it was too much. It was - the bread was not a slice or two but pretty much half a loaf of bread! The meat cuts were also very good. For main I had a grilled sea bream which was delicious. The fish does have bones but it was really good and well worth having. The service was excellent and very fast from the owner which I found out is José Antonio and his wife Karla. Ok, so I started as the only person in the restaurant which I'm sure helped but credit to them they were open! Overall I paid €43 but also had 2 beers that I pointed out were not included in the bill. They didn't charge me for them anyway, so I stayed longer and had another couple of beers - for which I made sure I paid 😁 I love having fish or sea food when I am in places close to the sea and that was definitely a great choice! For atmosphere originally I gave only 3 stars because being the only client (at the start ... more people came later) I can't really say much about atmosphere. After a moment of reflection, I changed that to 5 stars because in the end when there was no atmosphere due to lack of other customers José Antonio and his wife created the atmosphere for me! One comment - not sure if they speak English. I was making massive effort speaking in Spanish :-) The fish looks great on the photos and I also took a photo of the bread and the meats which came as starters. It was delicious but a little too much for me.

Uncooked chicken sent back. Overcooked 40€ steal sent back twice. Will never return. Started with bread and calamari, as they had ran out of mussels. Bread was good and calamares tasted great - issue being at 16,50€ per portion we expected to be able to share. There was 1 small squid cut into 6 pieces, this was it. Main course we ordered grilled vegetables, 2 chicken and pork skewers and solomillo. Due to the constant screaming of the kitchen staff to the wait staff (perhaps consider radios) we found out they did not have solomillo either. A few minutes later, someone came to officially tell us this so we ordered the entrecot cooked ‘blue’ or ‘very very very rare’. Vegetables came 15 minutes before anything else. Chicken and pork skewers were still slightly raw in the middle and had to be sent back for cooking longer. Steak came out last, extremely well done. We sent this back, as for around 40€ for a steak, it should at least be cooked to the customers preference. Steak number 2 comes out, this time they had achieved ‘medium-rare’, which was an improvement on ‘well done’ but still wasn’t close to ‘blue’. 5 minutes of trying to get someone’s attention, and we sent it back again. They did ask if we wanted it remaking for a 3rd time, we politely declined, paid the bill and left. Wait staff and kitchen staff were constantly screaming and shouting at each other across the restaurant and terrace. This seemed to be the standard way to communicate.

We visited Elche to experience El Palmeral de Elche. After walking for the whole day we found this beautiful restaurant on the city plaza. Servers were so nice and friendly, the chef has an amazing sense of humour and he did an amazing job with making us laugh and the food he cooked of course. Our server was very knowledgeable and recommended a nice red wine- Ribera del Duero, that we really enjoyed. If you visit- definitely try the shrimp, mussels and the burger on their menu. Everything is massive in size and very delicious!! We felt very welcomed and cared for. At the end of our experience we asked for some other historical places to visit and received some good recommendations. We left the restaurant and the server chased us to show us how to get to a specific point of interest. This experience definitely exceeded our expectations!! You guys are amazing at what you do, thank you! 5 stars and we will be back next time we’re in Elche! They also all speak great English! Muchas Gracias!

My recent dining experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag, leaving me with both positive and negative impressions. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the attentive and friendly service provided by the waitstaff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and prompt seating.

However, where this experience fell short was in the culinary department. It was evident that the kitchen did not quite deliver on the promises set by the menu descriptions. The flavors were bland and lacked the depth we were expecting based on the menu's descriptions. It's disappointing when a dish's potential isn't fully realized due to underwhelming execution.

Moreover, it seemed that the management of the restaurant had its own set of issues. Despite the excellent efforts of the waitstaff, it felt as if the manager was struggling to keep up with the overall flow of the establishment. There was a noticeable lack of coordination between the kitchen and the front of the house, which impacted the overall dining experience. It was evident that the manager was more focused on micromanaging the waitstaff rather than effectively managing the entire dining operation. This imbalance ultimately hindered the flow of the evening and created an atmosphere that wasn't as cohesive as one would hope for.

In conclusion, while the waitstaff's dedication and attentiveness were the saving grace of this dining experience, the culinary execution and management oversight left much to be desired. The potential is certainly there, but improvements are needed in the kitchen and management realms to truly make this restaurant shine. I hope that the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and works towards a more balanced and enjoyable dining experience for...
