Jo's Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Frigiliana

Went along on a Wednesday evening to enjoy a drink and a meal with the family, initially ignored as a family group and was not until I followed the lady working that evening into the bar and asked if we could grab the empty table of six outside that she spoke to us! Our drink order was taken but no menus given and no mention the kitchen had closed at 20:30 (no reference to this on the website) it wasn’t until we saw the same lady visibly take the menu stand inside that we realised food was not an option! Still I had to chase her down inside and ask if the kitchen was still open! To which she replied no the kitchen is closed! Amazing really as we must of missed it by no more than 2 minutes after sitting down as some people were still getting starters and main courses kept coming out even 20-30 minutes after we sat down! I have worked in the food service industry and I know there is a good return to be had on a six seat table who have already ordered a bottle of wine and three other drinks, shocked at the lack of engagement from the lady working that night and didn’t go back even for a coffee or evening drink even though it was a few yards from our villa! We did eat out on four more occasions spending over €100 on each occasion and it was not hard to get...

Last Friday I went to Jo's bar and restaurant for the first time. Decided on having the fish, chips and mushy peas. I certainly was not disappointed. The fish was delicious and the batter was light and crispy. Tripled cooked homemade chips and the mushy peas, I need to know how you did them Mark! For pudding went for the homemade Lemon meringue pie and vanilla ice cream. Lush! Great friendly staff as well. My dog was also made welcome and they gave me a bowl of water for her. I will be back!...

What a find!!! This is a bar/restaurant that has so much to offer. The food is fantastic. Its home cooked, fresh and amazing quality and value. Big shout out to Mark the Chef!! Jane offers excellent front of house service and makes you feel completely relaxed....very attentive and courteous. Jo has a gem of a place here. You will feel welcome. You will be fed and watered and have a great time in the process. Thank you guys....
