Our family visit to Panorámica Frigiliana was truly magical, and it immediately became clear why this place is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. As soon as we arrived, we were captivated by the dazzling white facades, winding cobblestone streets, and the vibrant colors of bougainvillea cascading over blue doors and windows. Standing at the panoramic viewpoint, the entire village unfolded before our eyes, and the sweeping countryside and Mediterranean Sea in the distance amazed both adults and children alike. As we wandered through the old Moorish quarter, admiring the Mudejar architecture, brick arches, and glazed tiles, it felt as though we were traveling back in time. The children especially enjoyed the adventure of searching for the twelve historical plaques hidden throughout the village, each revealing a piece of Frigiliana’s rich history. We also visited the Church of San Antonio de Padua, which impressed us with its elegant bell tower and simple yet beautiful interior, and we learned about its fascinating transformation from mosque to church over the centuries. Exploring the charming shops selling local handicrafts was another highlight that allowed us to soak in the local atmosphere. The most memorable moment for our family was the gentle walk up to the ruins of Castillo de Lízar, where the breathtaking views made us feel even more connected to the village’s long history. The peaceful atmosphere, vibrant culture, and stunning scenery of Frigiliana made this trip an unforgettable experience for our family, and we confidently recommend it to any family seeking history, beauty, and the authentic charm of Andalusia.

Nice, charming and beautiful but calling it the most beautiful Andalusian town is the overstatement. Its proximity to the already touristy Nerja makes it also touristy. There are many Andalusian towns on the hills, and not visited by mass tourists, that are...
