Bar El Capote — Restaurant in Fuengirola

The word “Service” and with a “Smile” would be a distant idea for the waiter at this beautifully located restaurant. Unfortunately, the only thing going for this restaurant is their location The waiter is not happy being a waiter and attending to customers. There are other restaurants serving breakfast by the port that serve customers with a smile and attend to them and don’t appear to be bothered when you request food or drink. I tried this restaurant last year when I was here and I was not very happy. I tried them once again this year to see maybe they had changed and once again, same opinion, not a place to attend for breakfast or any other meal. Getting served with food that one requests and with a smile should not be out of the ordinary, but the standard.

Ask for dietary restrictions this place served my nine-year-old mother a fried egg with lots of salt over it without asking for it. We had to remove the salt with a knife, scraping it off and then told the waiter that maybe some people have hypertension and you shouldn’t put salt on their food without asking, which the waiter was not happy at all, and then said something to me in Spanish as he walked away which I’m sure was not...

They had an advertisement outside for ”paella for 2” So we sat down and ordered drinks and the paella. After they brought the drinks they told us there is no paella available (Although there was a sign outside with the offer, and sign wasnt even bolted on the ground. They could have taken it inside)

Well we were hungry anyways so decided to grab few tapas, and asked Whats available. Well not that much was. (The list was there but most of the stuff wasnt possible to purchase) so we bought 3 small tapas and 2 drinks for hefty price of 19,35e

After I got the check, I gave a 20 euro Bill. Obviously I was waiting for the receipt and the change for 65cents (which I was planning to leave as tip Although it wasnt that good) I dont usually take back my small change and usually I leave tip But they didnt even Bring the change back, and assumed I left it for them.

Its not a restaurants decision to not Bring the change back.

The tapas was not even that good. And they brought only one piece of bread Although there was 2 people.

I very rarely leave reviews. But these small things just pis*ed me off too much.

The waiter that initially served us was chaotic but not particularly unfriendly. Most of the food we ordered was of a reasonable quality but we specifically ordered spaghetti bolognese without cheese. The dish clearly came with cheese. When we pointed this out to the waiter he simply walked away. We tried to call him over to explain again, thinking that he might have thought we wanted to reorder,but he dismissed us so I attempted to speak to the other waiter, possibly the owner. (I am British but speak spanish and the group was speaking a mixture of Spanish and English). I said politely, "Perdon" and he said "I can't deal with you now. I'm with my family". Ok, but you work here right and you have a paying customer that needs assistance? A friendly chat with your family is more important than a paying customer clearly! Anybody who had any idea of good customer service would simply have asked me politely to wait a moment. This man was incredibly rude to me. Shouted at me. Called me rude!
