We made a reservation for three people through Google Maps, and the process worked flawlessly. The confirmation arrived immediately via email, and we were warmly welcomed. The staff helpfully offered us the option to sit either on the outdoor terrace or indoors – a positive first impression.
Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet expectations. The menu was available only via a QR code printed on a wooden block on the table. While the concept is modern, the execution was inconvenient: my phone couldn’t scan the code without adjusting settings, and the menu had to be downloaded as a PDF file, which was difficult to read on a mobile screen.
Additionally, the menu was presented in a small font and as a combined Spanish–English version, making it harder to follow. A better solution would be to provide separate language versions (e.g., Spanish, English, and possibly others), using larger fonts and a clearer layout optimized for phones. Even for those familiar with digital tools, this setup was far from user-friendly.
After ordering, two out of three meals delivered to our table were incorrect. For example, one pasta dish was missing the ordered chicken, which was delivered later and added to the now-cooled portion. By that time, the other guests had already finished their meals. The staff apologized multiple times and explained that a recent menu update had caused system issues – though this did not help us in the moment.
I personally ordered the "Risotto al Funghi with Beef Sirloin" but received only the risotto without the beef. Based on our earlier experiences that evening, I chose not to complain further. I was charged for the cheaper version, but no explanation for the error was given.
We were seated on the outdoor terrace, directly under a speaker that played music at a volume that significantly disrupted our conversation. Two members of our group politely asked the staff to turn the volume down, but nothing changed.
While the staff was mostly friendly and apologetic, the overall impression of the visit was disappointing. We had selected NILO based on excellent Tripadvisor reviews (#14 of 1163 restaurants in Fuengirola), but our experience didn’t live up to the reputation. Over the years, we have dined at many restaurants in Fuengirola, and unfortunately, this visit ranked among the least satisfying.

When we had arrived to the Restaurant they asked us if we wish to dine in- or outside. We chose to sit outside at first but then changed our minds and requested a table inside. Due to a miscommunication on our part, the lovely servers thought it was their fault and were incredibly apologetic.
