We came across this gem of a place on our second day in Fuengirola, and it was the only place we visited on multiple occasions! If they had opened on a Monday or later than 6:30pm, they would have seen a lot more of us!
On the first visit, we had the paella meal deal for €20 for two people, anchovies, paella, and a bottle of wine! And it was full of fish! Prawns, mussels, clams, squid etc! Something like this you would be paying £50 at least for in the UK! (It comes with extra stock that does evaporate as it sits because of the hot pan. If not, the rice would stick!) Others in our party had the mixed fried fish, from what I remember, €8.50 and this was also well enjoyed! Including multiple drinks, the whole meal for x4 adults was less than €50.
On the second visit, we had a mixture on the other Tapas dishes, baby squid, clams and prawn pil pil! All were cooked fresh and bought to the table when ready!
The third visit by the others was a revisits to have the paella deal again!
Lovely chilled atmosphere, people waiting on the stairs for a table! Lovely family run Spanish style service!
When we return to the south of Spain, this restaurant will be the first...
Read moreThe service here was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. When we got our table it was not cleaned up from the last people, there were used cigarettes and a cigarette box. Around 10 minutes later the waiter came and “cleaned it up”, all he did was move it to the other table right next to us. When he took off the table cloth all we saw was a table that looked like it had never been washed, it was without a doubt disgusting. We waited around 10 more minutes just for the menu and 15 minutes for him to come back and take our order. They were out of the seranno ham so all I ordered was bread. It took 30 minutes for the food to come and my bread was completely stale. We were very disappointed. We asked for the check But after we waited for 15 minutes for the check we decided to go inside and ask. When we came inside all we saw was dirty dishes and I’m not exaggerating when I say that you couldn’t see there was a table under the dishes. After we paid we left and around 1.5 hours later we had to walk past the place again, our table was still not cleaned up and the table next to us with the cigarettes...
Read moreMy Wife and I ate here today. Following advice from previous reviews we had the seafood Paella, anchovies and a bottle of white wine for 20 euros. I'm not a seafood fan but my Wife was keen to try the paella. We've been in Spain nearly three months and this was the best 20 euros we've spent on food by far anywhere in Spain!! I can honestly say the paella was spectacular both aesthetically and to taste. We loved the anchovies and the wine too! The service was really lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. We would both...
