If you want to hear a nice "shut up!" from the kitchen staff, then this is your place! Because of recent developments, I wish to share my updated experience. The issue began with a disagreement concerning the transparency of pricing during the "Mad Professor" event.
I initially attempted to address this issue in person and through their chat on the same day but received no satisfying resolution. Consequently, I requested the necessary information to complete an online complaint form. Unfortunately, they did not provide the required details and instead stated: "you are more than welcome to come in and fill out your complaint."
Upon my arrival, I was informed that I needed to leave the paperwork for the manager. (It later became apparent that the person I had been communicating with this moment was, in fact, the new manager.)
I also got greated from a kitchen staff member with the words "Why are you doing those bad things?" Filling out a “hoja de reclamación” is not a negative action; it is my legal right!
Furthermore, the staff on duty at the establishment did not even know how to assist with the necessary paperwork, as required by law.
They remained insistent that they had handled everything correctly.
In fact, the day before, on Instagram, I was apparently conversing with the owner herself who insisted that everything was clear, without even checking with the staff or giving any benefit of the doubt, and ignoring the evidence provided. That's because, as Alexandra put it, "she knew we always do everything as she teaches us. It was supposed to be in here."
After some time, it was acknowledged that our concerns were valid, as it was discovered that the sign had been found broken and had never been visibly displayed for customers.
Additionally, she admitted that she had never informed my friends about the prices either. It's important to note that it is not my responsibility to inform my friends about the prices, especially when I wasn't even aware of them myself.
This would have been the ideal opportunity to attempt a different approach in resolving the situation, offer a sincere apology, and perhaps avoid proceeding with the complaint form. However, instead of that, I had to endure false assertions and insults, including "Callate" (which means "Shut up" in Spanish), from the same kitchen staff member as before.
Thankfully, someone named Sam, whose connection to the business is unclear to me, offered a solution, which was a full refund, even though I had only requested a partial one.
It was only through her assistance that I ultimately found a resolution, and she also witnessed another verbal attack from the chef.
I understand that my complaint form has not been completed correctly from their side and may not carry any official consequences. However, after spending over an hour there, I simply wanted to accept Sam's offer and move on from the situation. Therefore, if you ever find yourself needing to file a “hoja de reclamación”, make sure it isn't simply swept under the rug or disregarded.
I hope that Kiddos will consider implementing staff training on how to handle sensitive situations and, most importantly, on how to communicate with customers. In situations where staff members are not in a position to discuss such matters, it would be advisable for them to maintain silence in their working area.
And yes, I will teach my children to speak up when they are...
Read moreRushed in with my child for a quick meal before catching our ferry. The cashier was nice which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. The service needs work 6 euros for 2 hours (or less) for kids to play even if you are buying food.
Decided to order food takeaway because we didn't have much time. The cashier went back to talk to the chef who refused to make our 2 sandwiches because he's supposedly doing a birthday party. But there was no party and other people were eating as well.
Tip for the owners: If your chef can't prepare a Tuna sandwich because he's too busy place a sign outside the door. This is a restaurant, right? I would hate to think it is racial discrimination because other people were served. When we return to this town we won't be back again. Not recommended.
Addition to my review in response to the owners review: I was not informed there will be a wait or how long it would be. This is a lie or you were misinformed. I would have asked how long as my daughter was hungry and would have considered waiting.
Also, 6 euros is not expensive just not expected and when ordering a meal with play areas for children in other countries I have lived in it was complementary play for children. That is your policy and I have no issue with it. However the flexibility for people who are only staying a short time such as 30 minutes should be reconsidered.
Also I was not accusing anyone of being racist. I said " I would hate to think that" due to everyone else eating and having already been served. Since no wait time was given just a "not possible". With everyone else being Caucasian and eating with no party in sight, it did cross my mind as it would any other human who has experienced injustices. If it is not the case than I'm glad but it did cross my mind....
