You know that moment when you take a bite of something and your entire life makes sense for a second? That’s exactly what happened to me at Platos Gastrobar in Fuengirola with their mini slider hamburgers.
I went in thinking I’d just have a quick snack. Then these little beauties arrived. The onions? Caramelised to absolute perfection — sweet, sticky, glossy, the kind of thing that makes you pause mid-bite and stare at your plate like you’ve just discovered fire.
If they ever make a full-sized version of these mini sliders, I’d happily eat one every single day until I needed to be forklifted back to Ireland.
Fuengirola has plenty of places that shout about their “famous” dishes, but these sliders? They’re in a different universe. They should come with a warning sign and possibly a support group for people who can’t stop ordering them.
Ten out of ten. I was genuinely sitting there wondering how many I could order before the staff staged an intervention.
And the potatoes? Don’t even get me started. Crispy, golden, perfectly seasoned — so good they could headline a gig on their own.
I left seriously considering going straight back in for another round. Big fan....
Read moreI was looking forward to enjoy my meal at Platos.. when I came there I was met by a server who was grumpy, rude, and not service minded at all. I ordered a jar of sangria which was very tasty. After that I asked my server to give me a dish that he would reccomend, he then seemed very annoyed, and he said ok quietly and then left. Later he came back with patatas bravas that was drenched in hot sauce and so spicy that my arabic friend couldn’t even eat it.

Read moreA definite 5/5! The food was amazing, the service brilliant, and everyone was very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy their job, which we love to see. I’d recommend this place to anyone living nearby or visiting Fuengirola.
The only small downside was that one server was a bit too quick to clear plates and glasses before we were finished. It happened with a tapas dish we hadn’t quite finished, as well as a beer one of us was still drinking. But overall, still...
