I went to Malaga for my holidays with friends in Fuengirola, and I found this fantastic place. I wanted to try an excellent Spanish restaurant because I am not a big fan of Spanish food in Bruxelles, so I wanted to see if I could start appreciating Spanish food. When I sat down on my chair, the waiter quickly asked me what I wanted to drink. I am a huge fan of cocktails, by the way. I asked him what I should absolutely try. So he serves me a typical Malaga cocktail. I need to say it was just stunning. For the rest of the meal, we took for the starter some fried fish. The fish came enrobed in a mixture of bread crumbs and lemon zest, I believe. The fish had a savory yummy lemon taste, crunchy and delicious without the moistness that sometimes kills fried fish when you put lemon juice on it. I wish all restaurants had their recipe.

Even though the starter was exquisite, the best part was the main course. We choose a traditional Spanish Paella, which was beyond my imagination. Beautifully served and perfectly seasoned with a wide range of refined spices. When we finally nearly managed to finish this generous meal, we knew that this was more than simply good. I can't tell possibly tell you how gorgeous it was in one sentence. But what I can say is, "Thank you, Casa Antonio, for making me discover Spanish food for real and make me love it." It was so good that I just had to make a review of...

Espero...

I don't know how they have 4.5 stars. When we arrived, we were told that we cannot order paellas because the kitchen is closing, so we can only have something quick to prepare. Ok, I get it (even though they could tell about this before they invited us to sit down and unpack all our things. But... Food that we got had no taste, calamari were chewy! :( We've told about this to the waiter, he took the food, came back after a moment and said that in his opinion the food is good and it should be like this and if we want, he can pack it for us to go (because we tried only two pieces, and because it was not eatable we left the rest). Of course we didn't take it with us and we paid full price for the food we have ordered. But the service is not paying any attention to the customers, noone asked us if the food was ok, If we needed anything else :( I would not recommend this place. I give two stars, because 1out of 4...

This was a lovely Spanish experience. The place was bustling with people and all happy and talking the atmosphere was 2nd to non... I went there with my family and had a blast. We ordered fried calamari, salad, tomato with garlic and Gambas pil pil for starters. Then had grilled squid, sea bass and salmon. Wow... It was all excellent with the exception of the gambas pil pil. The grilled squid was the best we had until now in Malaga and Barcelona. Go there and have a blast.. Worth it... Service was excellent and the price was right. Love it love it love it.. Will go there again soon.

Casa Antonio Fuengirola is by far the best restaurant locally. 👌 We have been coming here for several years now and we always return. Juan, is so welcoming, so friendly, attentive and truly knows how to deliver the best dining experience. The food is always spot on, cooked to perfection and very tasty. They offer gluten free options if you require. In our 10 night visit, we visited twice. Juan, we will be back to see you again next year. Thank you. John and Emma 🥘
