Right. So. After a long day belting balls around on the paddle tennis court — which, frankly, is just tennis for people who enjoy whacking things off walls — and then trudging around on some ridiculous hike, we turned up at Rubi Mediterraneo absolutely wrecked. Sunburnt, sweaty, and in desperate need of industrial quantities of food.
And Rubi delivered.
We started with three starters: the mixed croquettes, the chef’s salmon, and the pil pil prawns. Each one was so good it nearly had me hallucinating right there at the table. I was a forkful away from seeing a giant prawn riding a donkey down the promenade.
Then came the grand finale: the mixed paella. Huge, fragrant, and utterly magnificent — the sort of dish that makes you want to cancel all future plans and just sit there forever, shovelling rice into your face. All this while the sea breeze kept us cool, adding a surprisingly romantic touch. Would have been properly lovely if my mate wasn’t launching bits of paella around like a toddler with a spoon.
He needed at least four napkins to contain the chaos. The staff noticed immediately, swooped in, and asked if he was alright — top marks to them, properly attentive and quick on the draw.
If you want a place where you can devour brilliant Spanish and Indian dishes in bulk, feel the sea breeze on your sunburnt face, and be looked after by some of the best staff in town, Rubi Mediterraneo is the...
Read moreThought I and my wife and friend would eat here while staying locally big mistake. We were seated fast placemats put down then after waiting 20 mins we were given a menu and asked what drinks we wanted. The waiter returned 20 mins later and asked again what drinks we wanted! After finally ordering the menus of the day the first course was bought out after another 30 mins!,, I asked for bread and some salt neither were brought out I had to get up and take a condiment tray myself. After another long wait the main course was bought out I had stone cold chicken my wife had steak that was almost all gristle and fat unedible and cold and my friend tasteless spaghetti carbonara. Bread was finally bought out it looked like it had been stamped on . After wasting nearly 2 hours at this restaurant we decided enough was enough payed the bill and left €48 lighter and still hungry. Wheelchair seating was a joke. There are a lot better restaurants near by I recommend this restaurant is avoided I visited...
Read moreWe went there for dinner last night and it was very disappointing. I ordered the Russian salad which had too much vinegar and a heap of seafood sticks in it. Being half Spanish, I have never experienced a Russian salad with seafood sticks in it in all the years I have been in Spain with family. My husband's steak had a strange smell and taste off it and he didn't eat it. The waiter came and asked if everything was ok the minute the steaks were served to us but we hadn't even tasted them yet at that stage. When he eventually came to take the plates away we told him about the problem and he said there was nothing he could do because he had asked us if everything was ok and we had said yes. They made us pay for it and added on a 10% service charge because they obviously knew we weren't going to tip them. They don't care about their customers....
