Definitely book ahead of time. We went on a Tuesday in August and we did good booking in advance.
Everything was delicious.
We started with cold starters, a tomato salad and anchovies with pimientos del piquillo. The tomato was sweet and well seasoned and the anchovies, although were not large were mildly salty and meaty. Very recommended.
As warm starter we took almejas a la marinera, who h was out of the menu, they were big and very tasty.
We dip a lot of bread everywhere!
We took Raya for fish. They were very knowledgeable about all fish and how to best enjoy them the Raya was soft and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed every last bit of it.
For dessert the cheesecake was from another world, done with true cheese not only cream cheese.
The natillas and flan were also very good.
Overall it was of course on the pricey side, about 55 euros per person, but for the amounts we ate and the quality and service, the relationship between quality and price was very good.
We got this place recommended by friends and I can only say, it is...

We had gone in to book our table 3 days in advance and were made to feel really welcome by the staff. We booked a table to eat at lunchtime on Sunday. They could only offer us seating under cover outside for a late lunch. So definitely book well in advance.
We arrived for our meal and received a warm welcomed a shown to our table, the weather was not good but the covered area was dry and free of wind.
We had Anchoas en aceite de oliva o con pimiento roj, Croquetas, Gambas a la plancha and Colas de Cigalas Rebozadas (battered Crayfish) with Ensalada de Tomate and fries.
Service was exceptional friendly and food was plentiful and well cooked.

Read moreHeard that the food in Getaria would not disappoint so chose this place based on the reviews. The food didn’t disappoint, absolutely incredible. Tried stingray for the first time which was lovely. The wine was excellent, a solid menu choice and incredible value for money (all in our bill came to €65 for two adults which included two wines and a starter . The setting is also beautiful as it sits on the beach however a genuinely bizarre atmosphere. No need to dress up as people dressed like they’re on a Ryanair flight, outside seating is in a car park and one child in particular left playing on his iPad with Full volume and wouldn’t stop crying. We did what all true brits would and tutted and cast daggers....
