We got back to our Airbnb to find our water heater flooding our apartment with no towels and no internet to reach out for immediate help. And while we were sponging up towel after towel and paper towel roll after paper towel roll from every corner of our kitchen all I could think was, “maybe this time would be better used reviewing Cacho&pepe.” Dinner was wonderful. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the location and if I didn’t mention it already the food. The waitress Claudia immediately left my mediocre Spanish in the dust and read my perplexed face and finished with a perfect, “would you rather I use English.” It only got better from there. The dinner was just great. I know- Spain is for the Tapas. Or maybe it’s more importantly for great dining experiences. And this was certainly that. My girlfriend and I were immediately charmed by the small and welcoming space. And I was immediately overwhelmed by the number of options and opted for my favorite route of letting the employees choose my dinner. No mistakes there. I doubt you could make a mistake. Unless it was walking by this place in favor of somewhere else. Go eat their food. Go eat their food. Talk with the waitress. Be friendly with the cook who is consumed by the process and lives in his earbuds and gave us a charming goodbye. I wish I was rich. I’d pay double for the food to show my gratitude. Get dessert. Drink wine. Eat too much. Life is short and should be filled with more places like this. If using google maps make sure to enter Cacho&pepe. No spaces. It’ll take you to the wrong place a 15 minute walk away. Not a big deal. We learned this from the hotel we asked at the wrong place. I’d walk an hour to correct this mistake in hindsight. Thanks for...
Read moreAn outstanding Italian restaurant by Italians. This is typically a take out restaurant, but we arrived early and were able to take one of the two tiny tables that sat a tight three seats. Truth be told, we haven’t had great Italian food for a long time (apologies for roasting our home town, but it’s true). Cacho&Pepe really showed us true “al dente”, great seasoning, large portioned meals got us going for the day. We may have over ordered the bigger portion of the burrata dish, but we loved it. The beef & mushroom cannelloni was perfect. I described it to my son as Italian enchiladas, but tbh, I’d have these over enchiladas any day. My wife ordered an excellent lasagna. My son ordered a simple pasta. We topped it off with both cheese cake and tiramisu. The tiramisu does NOT have the alcohol flavor in it, but still great. I didn’t get a photo of the tiramisu because my wife was halfway through it by the time I remembered to take...
Read moreMy desire for Italian Cuisine took me to cacho & pepe. I saw a lot of good reviews which pushed to visit the place. It's hard to find good Italian food and even if you find one they are too expensive. So one fine day it was Cacho & pepe at Granada spain. Inside Realjo san matias isn't difficult to locate. Spread across alley the place has ample indoor and outdoor. The ambiance of the place is made for quite and two couples of table available.
