Proper old-world tapas bar, brimming with giddily-eating and drinking local and international punters and lined with cured hams, wine barrels and taxidermy. The tapas were rich and exotic, the gazpacho refreshing, barrel-poured vermut tongue-popping, and there was a great selection of local wines. You can’t get more typically Spanish than this bar. Don’t count on getting a table, part of its charm is in its lively atmosphere and eating tapas “de pie” (standing).
The decor is typically “manchega”, the staff are very attentive and funny, but the bar’s être de raison is undeniably it’s food. Expect every dish to be given the respect and attention it deserves.
