Cafetería El Barco — Restaurant in Guardamar del Segura

Very nice Spanish restaurant with surprising good fresh fish. Located close to the beach with a beautiful view. We went there for dinner so the sun was about to set and it was only possible to sit inside but normally you can also eat outside. Lovely decor and you instantly feel that this is going to be a good experience. We ordered white wine and a starter to share and we were off to a great start. We could see the food other people were getting and it looked amazing so it was difficult to choose. We ordered two different main dishes but the salt baked sea bass was sold out so we ended up ordering the same but it was the most delicious fish dish. The waiters was very professional and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. It was a large size portion so we decided to share a dessert and picked the homemade lemon pie. Again it tasted amazing. We will be coming back that’s for sure and I can give my honest recommendation to this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed if you are looking for traditional Spanish food and especially fresh...

I came here on my first night in Guardamar as it had good reviews, but found it to be distinctly average.

It was a bit chilly so I sat inside, bit it was too brightly lit. I was eating alone and the service was prompt and polite but not really friendly.

I chose swordfish after asking the waiter for a recommendation to help me decide between different fish. It was nicely cooked but the whole dish was covered in a lot of oil. I had a chocolate dessert and that was nice but huge.

The food came really promptly but after I'd eaten the service fell away. I waited for ages to get the bill. It was only 9.30, but a young waitress was wiping tables and sweeping the floor around me, apparently completely oblivious that I may need something. I don't speak Spanish, so it was hard for me to get her attention politely.

In summary, the food was pretty good, the service was OK, two of the staff were nice but distant, but I was completely ignored after my meal finished. The restaurant was too bright and souless so I wouldn't...

This is the restaurant where I had my bag stolen and the manager had no time to help me find a taxi home as he was too busy with other customers, my problem and he wasn’t interested in the slightest, it’s your problem don’t ask me to help as I’m too busy. We were dazed, didn’t know what to do, if I didn’t pay the bill he was going to call the police , luckily I could still pay with Apple Pay as I hadn’t reported my card stolen at the time, very dissatisfied with the attitude, never going back again, worst experience of my life, very rude staff.
