We loved this spot! Our experience started even before we sat down to eat. The head waitress, came out and greeted us, she thoroughly explain the menu, and allowed us to explain our food restrictions. She then proceeded to follow up with the chef, to be sure that these could be accommodated, which they were able to do enthusiastically. We had 1 meat eater, and 5 pescatarians. We also have several food, allergies, and food sensitivities, that were accommodated again with enthusiasm. This is a very important aspect to our group.
We ordered the middle tier menu. All of the food was colorful, and creative, and even more importantly, it was delicious. There is a reasonably priced and fairly diverse wine selection. The interior is nicely designed with a very calming atmosphere. It is nearly impossible to choose a favorite dish (because they are all TOO GOOD), but we would say likely the grilled Hake main dish. It was cooked to perfection and not overdone. The menu is resonantly priced as well! Thank you to the team at Tecande, we had a lovely evening and thoroughly enjoyed your...
Read moreBad experience at this restaurant on the evening of the Saint Juan. The place is chic, the service is good and the cuisine is creative BUT unfortunately, I chose a Ceviche that was the most disappointing ceviche of all my life and one of the worst dish I had this year. The fish was cut in very small pieces soaking under 3 soft elements: beetroot (in june) which is not a very good choice and it was nothing else than beetroot and a guacamole that tasted bad, no cilantro, no avocado pieces, too soft :/ The third element, "the twist" was the popcorn ice cream. I was expecting something very original (ok corn, crunch, south america...) but it was real vanilla (or popcorn maybe, just really sweet) ice cream in the middle of the plate which was disturbing and not a good combination with the fish. No crushiness, no herbs and impossibility to taste the fish because of the rest :( it was also visually very poor. Sorry but I work as chef and I had to leave a comment so you can improve, change or go back to a classical...
Read moreUnfortunately We were disappointed with our dining experience at Tacande. It is definitely not Michelin standard.
We ordered cocktails and our meal. No amuse bouche or greeting hors d’oeuvre. The ceviche appetizer showed up before the cocktails. The fish in the ceviche had tough bits in it and was hard to cut. It came with very thin brittle toast that fell apart much too easily. Flavour was good but too much sauce. Almost a soup. Steak was on special 57 euros for 2. We asked for medium rare and it came bordering blue. The steak was good but no seasoning. Very small portion of shoe string fries which I don’t understand given the cost of potatoes and this was for 2. The roast red pepper was nice. Service was attentive. Would not come back for the price and quality. Had high hopes but sadly they...
