Las Canteras Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Las Canteras is our favorite place to go in Las Palmas. In a nutshell: Excellent food, satisfying quantity, superb service.

Over the last years we have dropped by frequently, usually 1-2 times per stay. Initially we came for the seafood platter, which was delicious. However, on a neighbor table I saw the XXL skewer and ever since then it has been my favourite dish. The meat is grilled to perfection. The veggies complement the meat perfectly. The sides are excellent. It is satisfying and tasty.

This time we also had squid as starters and it was the best fried squid I had in a long time. Fresh and delicious.

What sets everything apart is the excellent service. There is no other place on the island that comes close. I specifically have to mention the lovely waitress. She remembered my wife and myself after one year. Welcomed us, even remembered our usual order. I’ve never seen anything like it. She probably could work for a secret service with a memory like that. Jokes aside, I will drop by every time I come to town. It is always pleasant. It is always good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant that served some of the freshest fish I have ever tasted. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff and shown to a well-presented table.

The menu was extensive and filled with a variety of seafood options, but we decided to stick with the recommendations of our server and opted for the fresh catch of the day, garnished with a side of canarian potatoes. It did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection, highlighting the natural flavors of the sea.

In addition to the incredible food, the atmosphere of the restaurant was unbeatable. The sound of the waves crashing on the beach and the salty sea breeze created an idyllic setting that truly enhanced the dining experience.

Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious seafood meal. The quality of the food and the exceptional service provided by the staff truly made for a memorable dining experience.

We tried different meals (starters, main courses and desserts) over several visits and were always satisfied. Portions are generous and well-prepared.

Service is top notch - very friendly and on time - you never have to wait to catch the waiter as there's usually someone from the staff looking out and they proactively check if you need anything else and if everything is OK.

Location and ambience is nice - very close to the beach promenade, but not directly on it, so no endless stream of people in front of you. No loud music - you can have a normal conversation while enjoying the food and fresh air.

They're open from 13 to 22 daily, without any siesta breaks.

Tips: reserve a table for dinner during the day, as they can be fully booked in the evening they're open till 22, but the kitchen closes at 21, so if you want to eat dinner, come in no later than approx. 20:30. must try the following meals: seafood tapas, paella, fish fillets. Very delicious and for a good price.
