Rooftop & Terrace Aloe — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

The bar is at the top of the hotel. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and polite staff. I went with 3 other friends and I had 3 margaritas. Even though generally they were nice, I’d have to say that the first one was better than the other two I had after that. (Don’t know if they changed bartenders or if the bartender just forgot to taste my other two margaritas before serving it).

On the other hand, we ordered nachos with guacamole and cheese, which took ages to arrive, (we actually had to remind the waitress about it). The first time we asked for it, the waitress said it was on its way, then another waitress came and told us that there they had ran out of guacamole, that it would take some time to arrive and she nicely asked if we didn’t mind having it without it, which we agreed. The nachos came, but they forgot the cheese, which we had to ask for again, and by the time it came, we had almost finished our nachos already.

Anyways, if it wasn’t for food incident and the two not as good margaritas, I would still recommend this place, but just...

It was the #worst New Year's Eve in Las Palmas 2021, that's for sure. Half of the the promises listed by the advertisement has not been fulfilled, as a result, consumers have been deceived the advertisement is therefore misleading. 
We were assured of impeccable service, but this was not the case. 
We paid €140 for 2 person: 
A plate of ham, 6 slices of cheese, 8 grains of mussels and a jar of cocktails. + a bag of cotillon for 2 people. 
The amount of food was served to absolutely one person, shared by 2 people. 
The fireworks were not visible. 
Nothing indicated midnight, the guests looking at their watches and they hastily ate the grapes, which is the only Spanish curiosity at NYE. 
There was no DJ, however boring and monotonous CD music.
The place wasn’t made with any New Year’s decor, it was like a plain Monday night. 
As you can see, we could not enjoy our party, it was spoiled. I live in Las Palmas, I will take the necessary action by contacting the hotel management.

Doy una segunda estrella por el sitio, las vistas que son de 5* y por el camarero joven que nos atendió en terraza, súper simpático y súper amable. 2 Aperol Spritz, bien. Los cócteles, muy insulsos, falta potencia de sabor, el mío, de vaso corto, de ingrediente principal: HIELO, encima le faltaba un dedo de bebida, en tres sorbos me bebo los ¡¡¡10 €!!!. Consejo: Actualmente en la isla y en LPGC (osea no muy lejos) hay unos cuantos establecimientos con buena coctelería, comparen un poco. El sitio y los precios merecen más CALIDAD al respecto. Las referencias de la carta de vinos están bien, y los precios se podría decir que están dentro de lo correcto para el sitio, por tanto, muchísimo mejor pedir una botella, y sale más a cuenta, para mí que me gusta el vino, lección aprendida!! De 22:00 a 22:30 delante nuestro no pasó nadie, desistí de pedir una última copa de vino. Al otro empleado, en esta media hora, lo vi de lejos una o dos veces pero no hizo ni lo más mínimo por mantener contacto visual por lo menos. En mi opinión el número de bombillas para la iluminación es más que suficiente, por lo que en vez de tener 5 bombillas de luz cálida y el resto de luz fría, si fueran todas cálidas, ganaría mucho la ambientación. Para mi gusto, la música estaba muy alta para la poca gente que había, y encima, un house que creo que le pegaba más a un viernes o sábado con más afluencia. Y ya que estoy, considero que en un establecimiento hotelero, una conducta de CALIDAD en una recepción es iniciar el saludo de recibimiento y de despedida a la clientela, cosa que no pasó, y más aquí, que se pasa a un palmo para coger el ascensor. Son departamentos diferentes el de restauración y el de recepción peto imagino que no son...
