Restaurante Chino Puerta de Oro — Restaurant in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

I am probably biased because this restaurant belongs to my family, but I've been eating here all my life and here are some of my favorite dishes: golden gate fried rice (has egg chicken beef shrimp veggies, brown colored because of soy sauce); sweet and sour pork (homemade sauce with tomato base, the pork comes fried so its not a good choice for people on a diet, but it is a treat); spring rolls (quite big, made freshly every 2 days); golden gate salad (with pink sauce, yummys); fried noodles (tallarines); and hot plate chicken/beef/shrimp (comes in a smoky hot plate and smells like heaven, actually the whole restaurant smells like heaven whenever someone orders this dish).

The restaurant also has a wide selection of alcohol (beers, wines, whiskys, liquors, even homemade sangria) and a lot of dessert options (ice creams, lychee, deep fried oreos, etc.)

There's a terrace downstairs and several tables upstairs inside the restaurant. A couple steps from the beach,it is usually full on weekends afternoons. Most clients are local people that come back again and again, I think that says a lot about the place :)

We always make a point of eating here whenever we visit Gran Canaria, even when we're staying in the south (it's that good!). Delicious Chinese food made with quality ingredients. Insanely generous portion sizes and incredible value (I'd say 20% cheaper than in the resorts). Relaxed, informal atmosphere with very welcome air conditioning. Very friendly and pleasant waiter who always makes us feel welcome. I speak Spanish but he speaks decent English if you don't. Went as it scored the highest review on here Wish we had not Very poor, service fine but the meat I wasn't even sure was even meat, onion over powered both dishes. We don't usually leave food but left more than we ate and left disgusted
