Very unprofessionell service. Google says restaurant opens at 12:00. Two waiters standing in front of the restaurant ignored me while I standing right in front of them waiting for them to finish their talk. I asked if the restaurant is open or closed. They rather unpolitely answered me it was closed and told me to come back in half an hour. I came back after half an hour and found the terrace completely empty and sat down at one of the empty tables. Immedietely, one of the waiters I had encountered 30 minutes before and who then had made 0 effort in showing hospitality now rushed towards me, again rather unpolitely, telling me that exactly the one table I had picked was already reserved.
Judging by the reply to my complaint, the unfriendly and unpolite staff member I was talking about is the owner or head of service of this place himself! It seems to me he still is rather young and has a lot to learn about the gastro business. BUDDY! I had really been looking forward to visting your pizza place since I had arrived at Las Palmas three days earlier! Your pizza place was the first thing I saw at Place Catalina! Bumped straight ahead into it on my way from the bus station to my accomodation at general vives! The place smelled good, the pizza looked yummy! When I finally had time to visit, it was the last day of my stay in Las Palmas! I had to check out at my hotel at 12 o'clock! I waited for you to open the restaurant and resceduled my bus transfer! You did not say anything about problems with the kitchen! I spent 45 minutes walking around at Placa Catalina with my heavy backpack! You could see it! Instead of offering me at least a place to sit down you built a barricade at the entrance! THIS is the kind of lack in your hospitality I'm complaining about! Juding by other one star ratings, I'm not the only one who has had bad experience with your attitude towards service! Way to go, Señor! Eventually, I went to O sole mio casa roja at the beach promenade and there the staff was very professional, friendly and welcoming and immedietely offered me a place...
Read moreAnother place with a Finnish favorite, pizza Bolognese on the menu.
As a dish it relies heavily on the flavor of the sauce, as there are no other toppings.
Here, unfortunately, the sauce had very little flavor.
The Bologna chamber of commerce has published an official recipe on how the sauce should be done to be called this.
Following the recipe leaves the sauce with an unmistakenable taste, a depth that is hard to describe. Here, that depth, nor taste was not available.
I did finish that pizza, since otherwise as a pizza it was okay.
I mentioned after eating, that the sauce sucked. Problem was me, as I ate before mentioning - which was never the point.
Waitresses also avoided me like the plague after stating I was not happy. This was down to language, english did not work.
Ramon is the only reason I'm not leaving a 1-star. Tho, issue re. the taste of the sauce is still there.
Edit: swapped to a 1-star after seeing the reply... Just...
Read moreWe stopped here for some food and a drink. We ordered nachos, which had a few chopped tomatoes and onion on the top with 2 pots of "cheese sauce and guacamole" that were obviously out of a jar and were disgusting. There was no melted cheese, jalapeños or any interesting flavours, just dry, boring crisps. The prawns in breadcrumbs didn't resemble the texture or flavour of prawn at all, they were obviously frozen & processed, which is crazy when there is an abundance of beautiful, fresh produce on the island. We were going to order more, but really didn't want to try anything else, and with the poor service we received, it was not a...
