Alaska Tavern — Restaurant in Málaga

Probably this is not for everyone - if you are looking for English-speaking service or white tablecloths, this is not for you. You have been warned. Just don’t come here. However, if you are looking for an authentic experience, this is a must in Malaga. Only locals come eat here. Saying that we felt like home is an understatement - at the end of the dinner, the waitress was hugging and kissing my daughter! They offer no dessert. Our daughter wanted one, so they scavenged some candies from who knows where for her. The food is amazingly fresh and prices are ridiculous for someone coming from Germany or the UK. We ate until our bellies were almost exploding and we had to leave them a huge tip - which they did not ask for in any way but were of course very grateful for. Estuvimos el sabado comiendo por primera vez (sin reserva y de urgencia la verdad, tenimos reserva en otro sitio y cuando llegamos, estaba cerrado... en fin) eran las 13.30 y tuvimos que buscar una alternativa rapida ya que llevabamos una persona mayor y niños, he de decir que no será la ultima, es cierto que nos costó un poco de trabajo coger mesa, pero una vez sentados... Todos los platos fabulosos, pedimos: Gambitas cocidas, muy buenas, cocidas para nuestro gusto en su punto, conchas finas y patas de cangrejo riquisimas y muy frescas. El pescaito frito buenisimo, los boquerones muy ricos y la rosada perfecta. Pinchos de langostinos muy generosos y ricos. El pulpo frito muy bien preparado y acompañado, la ensaladilla rusa muy buena tambien y unas almejas salteadas ricas ricas, para nosotros la relacion calidad precio sensacional. Nos sorprendió sobretodo la rapidez en salir los platos, pedirlos y en nada estaba la mesa llena. La atención por parte del personal buena también. Por poner un pero, pero eso ya es algo particular, cuando hemos ido a comer a otros sitios y por la zona, una vez terminado, nos han obsequiado con chupitos, a nosotros personalmente nos gusta y pensamos que como a nosotros tambien le agradará a más gente, pero como digo eso es algo personal que no influye en absoluto en la calidad y el trato. Definitely the real stenght of this restaurant is the amazing price-quality ratio. We ate A LOT and only spent 16 euros each for a great food quality. You can see the picture and judge, it is not even all the food we got. I recommend sharing dishes, so you can try many things.

The service isn't amazing, they dropped some food on us without apologising too much (this happened at another table too). Anyway, overall I'd say it is worth to try as the food...
