Nestled in the vibrant streets of Málaga, Spain, Casa Aranda stands as a timeless testament to traditional Spanish culinary delights. Established in 1932, this iconic café has been serving locals and tourists alike for nearly a century, earning a revered spot in the heart of the city’s cultural and gastronomic scene. A visit to Casa Aranda is not just about savoring delicious food; it's an immersion into local history and tradition. Renowned for its delicious churros, light and crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, paired perfectly with a comforting cup of thick hot chocolate or a smooth café con leche, Casa Aranda offers an authentic Spanish breakfast experience. Each bite and sip transports you back to simpler times, when breakfast was about more than just eating—it was about community and shared moments. The ambiance at Casa Aranda is charming and nostalgic. Picturesque outdoor seating invites you to relax and watch the world go by, while inside, the décor captures the essence of the café's rich history. Framed artworks and vintage photographs adorn the walls, creating a cozy, yet lively atmosphere. 👨🦽🥬 This place is accessible on a wheelchair. Now I'm not an expert of Churros by all means, but I sat down on this warm morning winter with a crowd of locals talking politics and soccer, ordered what everyone was having, Churros with hot chocolate, and waited for 5-10 for them to come. There were 6-7 waiters running around so it's busy, but it's also a Sunday morning, and it's a traditional thing to do. The Churros (.70€), were freshly fried as you can see from the short video I made, and the hit chocolate (2€) was thick, almost like a pudding. The hot chocolate tasted like cacao, not dark chocolate, but it's not the quality of the food you sit down for, but the atmosphere and the Spanishness of it all. After this rather filling combination of Churros and hit chocolate, I ordered a coffee with milk, and that was interesting too, as the waiter came with the black coffee in a glass, and then poured the hot milk from an old metal pot in front of me. I guess, with a bit of Spanish, I could have asked for more or less milk. ... You can also have Bocadillo and sandwiches here. They are around the 4-5 euro mark in 2024. Now, as this was going on, someone was playing some street music 🎶🎶 ... Making this moment ever more sweet.

Traditional place for churros, breakfast and coffee. Everything was tasty and simple; and that’s fine as it’s a place that dates back to 80+ years. Went many times and always had a great experience! It’s amazing how the amount of tables are served and how they are making churros! Kudos to the waters who run the place - it’s like watching a scene in a Spanish movie from the 70’s.. super cool! In reg. to other reviews from here, the place is busy. It’s busy because they have like 50+ tables inside and outside. But the personnel is quick and they do their job in a super efficient way. So if you want a place where you get full attention then go some place else.. this is also not a coffeeshop to get stuck with your Mac in. Sorry :) But if you want an AUTHENTIC experience, great food and have half an hour to spare for a SPANISH COFFEE then that’s your place! Enjoy it :)

I went there because I was attracted by the google reviews. I wanted to try churros and drink a coffee. To be honest I'm very disappointed. Maybe because I was expecting something better that I found. First of all, there is a price, that each Churro cost 0.5 euro, but you can't order one, you have to order at least three for on person. Second thing is coffee. I ordered latte, and I was very surprised by the taste, because it was almost like drinking coffee grounds. Third thing is waiter. He talked to me at least three times, and all of the times, he started to talk something and go away. I asked three times to pay and each time he walked away doing something. In the end other guy come and help us pay. The only friendly guy was the one in the kitchen, explaining the difference between different type of Churros. At lest it was cheap.

So glad we stopped here. The churros with chocolate was phenomenal. Didn't see a menu, just asked for churros and the waiter gave his recommendations, which we promptly agreed to. While two churros a piece was a bit much for our after dinner dessert, a single cup of chocolate was perfect for sharing. The churros are really cheap so no need to worry about a big bill for getting extras. Also, for the best experience you need to eat them on site. Once cold, they are not nearly as tasty. One thing to note though is that this place closes PROMPTLY. I'd say you need to be there at least 15 prior to closing to get served. We missed our chance two days in a row because of trying to slip in just prior to close.

It was very crowded when we went there, around 11 am, and had to wait a bit for a table, but we were lucky and got one quickly. We had some churros, which were nice but I have to admit, that I've had better ones in my hometown in Germany. I just think that I'm not really a fan of this kind of churros but I'm sure that they're supposed to be like that because we had similiar in Sevilla. Bocadillos were delicious. Go for the big ones. The half sized portion is very small. Coffee and orange juice also very good. I actually would go again but definitely more for the bocadillos and orange juice than for the churros. Prices were very affordable and the service very nice.
