This is an amazing restaurant serving beautifully, well thought out food. The flavours are unbelievable. Close your eyes and taste all the flavours. It is run by a husband and wife team and they really compliment each other. We have never had a bad meal in Malaga, but La Casa del Perro is out of this world and in a completely different league to anything we have tried before. In addition to the blackboard menu, there are usually more dishes available from the house. Great service, wonderful explanations from the very knowledgeable Ana. All the food served is seasonal, so it is always at its optimum and cooked by Fede who brings out amazing flavours in the food. The organic, natural wines are amazing too. Very hard to drink any other usual wine that’s served in other restaurants after tasting these wines. A wonderful experience. Very reasonably priced, considering the quality of the food and the care taken in its preparation. No trip to Malaga is complete without...
Read moreWe went there because of the reviews, but were not that impressed. After trying many tapas restaurants throughout the South of Spain, this seemed like just an average one. Also the price-quality ratio is very low. For instance, the baked potatoes were raw (rookie mistake when cooking) and the portion is very small compared to portions in other places. Yet we paid around 7 euros for partially raw baked potatoes. We tried also the shrimps in olive oil which were ok, but we’ve definitely had better in Spain and outside, while the black rice with seafood was a disappointment - few seafood pieces, a bit too salty, and not that tasty, yet also pricey, which would not be an issue if the quality was higher. The atmosphere is definitely not something that you would go for - plastic chairs, weird smell inside like it is not sufficiently ventilated, crowded and averagely decorated, at least on the first floor. Service was very good. We paid around 60...
Read moreFound this place by chance as it’s off the beaten track. What a find! The menu is on a blackboard as they use the best ingredients each day. Luckily for us one side of the board is in English! The lady who served us also speaks very good English so was able to advise us what we were ordering. My hubby had the organic beans with Iberian ham & egg. This was a bean stew with aged black Iberian ham and a fried egg! He said it was delicious. I had the red tuna with poached onion and smoked mayo. The onion was soft and sweet and the mayonnaise had a peppery warm smoky flavour. There were 3 lovely tuna steak’s beautifully cooked as I’d asked not too pink! . Definitely...
