The look and feel of the restaurant is modern and luxurious, and the food is well thought out and perfectly executed. Had a beautiful Gazpacho of mango, which was fresh, lively and flavourfull. The Calamar was delicious and perfectly cooked. The menu in general is wide and interesting, combining local tradition and modern quality methods and preparation. Wine list is decent, with some serious local and international offerings, and a large selection of quality wines by the glass. Well done.
The open kitchen emphasizes the focus on professionalism and quality produce in the kitchen, but was less forgiving when a chef de partie sneezed directly into the palms of his hands, and proceeded to grab a nice piece of fish for frying, with no second thought of hygiene or embarrassment.
Certainly an upscale establishment, which can be felt on the service staff, all chic looking young fellows, that seem very content to work in such a setting. They were unable to detect that i had an interest in wine, despite me looking intensively at the wine menu throughout the entire dinner.
A reasonable understanding of Spanish is required to get along here - mine is at the pocito level, and i was unable to communicate to my waiter that the wine he had poured for me was slightly corked, and he was unable to detect it himself when i made him try it, resulting in an awkward "is good, salute!". I could go on at length about the lack of professionalism on the floor, but suffice to say that if the service staff had 10% of the skill of the kitchen, this would be a must visit for quality minded international diners. The food is worth 5 starts alone, do the math. A...
Read moreAs a person who tried and knows what fine dining standards are, this restaurant is way far from the fine dining They pretend it to be, it is overpriced for what you get, we ordered the “ENTRCOTTE DE Vaca Madurada” the meat was extremely chewy and the fat all along the piece of meat was not eatable! The fries were brought cold and mushy not the French fries you would eat at such restaurants, the burger was average it was saved by the sauce in it, the service was just not good, not only us but all clients get ignored from the waiters see they have 11 FULL TABLES and 3 waiters, we asked for some balsamic vinegar and olive oil and they brought us the kitchen bottles... with no small plates so we had to put on our own plate and it went everywhere on the plate, further more they left the appetizers dishes so we had to put them aside ourselves to fit other stuff, we literally had to help the waiter which is okay but not in a fine dining restaurants because you are paying for the service too, they also pick some plates that were not empty yet without any permission... If you are someone who wants to satisfy their tongue pallets and who knows what fine dining means then I would definitely not...
Read moreNot the level of service you would expect for such a well reviewed restaurant. We arrived for our reservation. We were sat at a table. (Set for 6 not the 5 that we booked) 10 minutes later still no sign of a menu or drinks. Finally our drinks order was taken after chasing a waiter to take the order. The dinner was a special occasion as such we decided to order a bottle of wine, normally, when you request a bottle of wine you know what you are going to eat… which is difficult without a food menu! 10 minutes later we were told the bottle we requested was unavailable. No problem. Second option requested, 15 minutes later… nearly 35 minutes sitting at the table we were told our second bottle was also unavailable. Despite, seeing a new bottle of the very same wine opened and a single glass poured to our neighboring table just a moment before. (By the way we were still waiting for food menus) That’s now 35 minutes without food order being taken and still no sign of a drink.. 45 minutes later we decided to leave with nothing more than a glass of water… I have never been so embarrassed to take people to...
