Taj Tandoori , Malaga, Spain, is an excellent, affordable and multi-ethnic restaurant. And known for tasty dishes and friendly service.
It has a fairly large menu, and the owner/chef will be able to cook up if there is a particular dish you want, or make suggestions. Offerings include North and South Indian, Mughlai, Vegan and Halal. This small restaurant is located by the Port of Malaga, which is part of the fabulous Costa del Sol.
For starters, try Prawn pooree, Paneer or Chicken tikka. We tried their Rice pilaf and it was delicious. The curries, both vegetarian and meat preparations were bursting with flavor. Just one caution. If you not used to hot (we mean chill hot) dishes, let them know.
For light mains: Vietnam Rolls with vegetables and tofu, Cuarto de pollo al tandooree con pata frias (fried Potatoes with dry souse with Chicken), an interesting dish Berenjena (eggplant) with Prawns, the all-time favorite, tandooree Chicken tikka
Talking of fresh, Taj Tandoori’s Nan’s and Tandooree roti are delish. We liked the fact that the breads not oily, as in some Indian and Pakistani restaurants.
For mains: Lamb tandooree with…..what else, Potatoes and if you have not tried it, ask for Halal cut, although I am not sure they have it on the ready, Lobsters with Methi (Fenugreek) seasoning. They do have a small section of desserts. We did not try it. One of the improvements they may consider is to publish their menu in English, since Malaga invites tourists from the world over. Prices are not unreasonable, considering location; and remember the price includes all taxes. Our vegetarian meal for 2 with glass of wine cost us $36. Meats are on the high side, but lot cheaper than the 5 and 5 star hotels.
If you crave Indian and Ethnic cuisine you should give this restaurant a try. I think you...
Read moreVery disappointed, we have eaten here a few times before and it was always good with nice staff. But last week we ate there the waitress wasn't very good at all she was young and obviously inexperienced, she couldn't speak English (thankfully I speak fluent spanish) and kept coming back asking what we had ordered because she forgot... we waited over 1 hour for the food. Firstly it was really windy outside (there were no tables available indoors) and being 8 months pregnant in the wind isn't very nice... when I asked if they could put the blind down to cover me (as they have done before for us) she said no. We then said right we are ready to order and she turned around and said sorry but you have to wait for the table indoor to order before you!!!! What!?! I'm 8 months pregnant, hungry and they told us we couldn't order as indoor tables had priority. a friend ordered a beer which we waited for 15 minutes and he never received. The food was ok not the best I've had there. Shame as we have always recommended the restaurant and their happy and helpful staff and this time it wasnt a nice experience. We won't be going again,...

The prices are very good for that delicious food. The cauliflower with curry from the pics looked so pretty and also was very good, a delicious combination of ingredients and an awesome presentation of the dish. If you opt for something new and budget friendly, it's the best option for you. There are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options, we went for the vegan menu but i truly recommend everyone to go to this place and try it because there are also a lot of non-vegan(vegetarian) dishes, you will not regret it! We will definitely come back again to try all the vegan...
