LOVELY FOR SUNSET, SNOBBY STAFF. This place calls itself a rooftop bar, although really it’s just a level up from the port rather than anything towering. That said, it’s still a lovely spot. The décor is stylish with muted colours, comfy seating, and crochet-style parasols that let the dappled sunlight through. Palm trees line the space, making the backdrop feel properly holiday. It’s especially beautiful at sunset, with relaxed music adding to the vibe. Drinks are fairly priced considering the setting, with a bottle of Prosecco at €25 feeling like amazing value. The only odd part was the reception staff, who seemed to give everyone a bit of an up-and-down glance as they arrived. It’s strange, since this isn’t an exclusive venue, but once you’re seated it’s a great way to enjoy the evening and watch the sun drop across the port. The floor staff were fantastic.

We really wanted to find a great place for a cocktail and we succeeded! Not only do they have a great view towards Malaga over the harbor, but they have the best prepared cocktails we could find during our weekend trip. We’ve been here two nights already and watching the post-sunset sky across the harbor while drinking a Wait for Me and Hot Toddy (someone felt a chill in the air) was wonderful. The servers are very friendly and their English was far better than our Spanish (especially since one of us knows no Spanish). They hustle, too. There were a lot of people here both nights and yet our drinks did not take too long and were well made. We definitely recommend and will be back!

Excellent cocktail makers and service! Special thanks to Nicola! *** UPDATE Unfortunately, Ive had to update my review following our second visit in the evening on 20 September. The hostess (girl with tattoo on arm - photo attached) completely lacked basic human skills (let alone basic customer service), was so rude and acted like a hooligan. We ended up leaving before our drinks arrived. We were not treated well at all and felt super threatened by her aggressive behaviour. She needs to be fired asap! We were so excited to return after our first 5 star visit and thoroughly let down on 20 september. Please do investigate her behaviour as it was absolutely unacceptable.

Disappointing Visit to NUSA Cocktail Bar

My visit to NUSA Cocktail Bar today was unfortunately anything but pleasant. What was supposed to be a relaxed evening quickly turned into an unpleasant experience that I won’t forget anytime soon.

After placing my order, the waiter brought me a drink – but not the one I had ordered. Instead of apologizing and bringing me the correct drink, the rude waiter told me to drink the wrong one. However, as I was looking forward to the cocktail I had originally ordered, I declined. The waiter then informed me that I would have to pay for the incorrect drink as well.

Rather than correcting the situation, something happened that I had never experienced before: the waiter suddenly insisted that I pay for the wrong drink. He explained that it was my problem if I didn’t want to drink it and demanded that I pay for both the incorrect and the correct drink. When I politely but firmly refused to pay for a mistake I didn’t make, he became visibly nervous.

What followed was a heated argument in which the waiter grew increasingly aggressive. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, he started raising his voice and tried to pressure me. The whole situation escalated into an unpleasant confrontation, completely ruining the evening. He even went as far as to ask for my nationality and my name – which was entirely inappropriate.

In the end, the situation was resolved after I insisted on speaking with the manager. The manager finally told me that I wouldn’t have to pay for the wrong drink.

Conclusion: Such unprofessional treatment of customers is absolutely unacceptable. I definitely will not be recommending this cocktail bar and certainly won’t be visiting again. There are plenty of other places where you won’t be held responsible for the...

The bar has a great view of the city and port and that's the positives done with. The service was shoddy at best. You have to queue to be seated, which is fine. But this took ages when there was quite clearly plenty of free tables. You have to wait behind a sign, and I mean, literally behind the sign. One of our group was on the wrong side of the sign and was asked to move, all of 10cms, to be the right side of the sign. The cocktails were average at best. We were given the bill half way through our drink, which again is fine, but the waitress waited at the table until we paid. then came the snacks, or lack of, in our case. All the tables were given complimentary snacks, except us. Maybe the service is top quality, and we'd done something to the waitress in a previous life, but all of what we experienced meant we left and found another bar to sit in the sun and have...
