I'm not a fan of modern art, so I was a little surprised how much I enjoyed visiting the Pompidou Centre. So lets get the negatives out of the way first. Some of the conceptual art was just the usual pretentious nonsense and the descriptions that go with them, even more so. A sardine can made to look like a bed or a sculptural group made up of zombie like audience is not art, no matter how many fancy words are used to describe it in nonsensical terms. The positives, lots of "proper" art work on display and the architecture exhibit was very impressive. The museum provides audio guides and there's a special audio guide for young children which helps immensely in keeping a young child entertained. The museum staff are friendly on arrival and helpful throughout the different sections of the exhibition. On the day of the exhibit there was a temporary exhibit of works by Henri Matisse (at extra cost). None of his major works were on display here though. The focus of the exhibit is on the development of the style for which he's known and you can see a clear development in his use of bold colours and long thick brushstrokes, as well as many example of his sculptures, all of which are stunning. Well done to the museum and all the staff and of course for keeping a young child entertained.

A Captivating Artistic Experience at Centre Pompidou Malaga! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Centre Pompidou Malaga, and it truly exceeded all my expectations! This stunning art museum, situated in the heart of Malaga, is a masterpiece in itself, both architecturally and artistically. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the museum's vibrant and contemporary atmosphere. The striking exterior of the building, adorned with colorful geometric shapes, is a brilliant preview of the artistic wonders that await within. Centre Pompidou Malaga boasts an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries. I was delighted to see an eclectic mix of renowned international artists, as well as talented local creators, contributing to the diverse array of exhibits. The curation of the artworks was exceptional, offering a harmonious blend of different styles and themes. A big thank you to the museum's staff and curators for creating such an enriching and enjoyable experience for visitors. Centre Pompidou Malaga is undoubtedly a masterpiece itself, celebrating the brilliance of art and its profound impact on our lives.

Visited the new museum and art gallery at the Pompidou Centre on the harbour front at Malaga. My main interest for this visit was the Matisse collection which is on temporary loan. The building is constructed mostly below street level with the main entrance on the lower waterfront level across from the new Hard Rock Cafe. The roof of the museum is marked by a multi coloured glass cube which is a light well over the lobby. There is excellent wheelchair access into and around the whole building. It is a very modern construction providing a clear and calm space in which to view the exhibitions. However, I didn't see any dedicated parking facilities for this building. There are good toilet facilities plus an excellent shop from which you can buy souvenir merchandise of the permanent collections alongside the visiting collections. I found that the bookmarks gave an excellent representation of some of the art works.

Best art museum I have visited in Malaga so far! Waaaay better than the Picasso! I went for free on a Sunday to visit: the queue went really fast (waited under 5 minutes) and I visited both the permanent and temporary exhibition (Jean Dubuffet) The permanent collection is very nice although not particularly impressive. I enjoyed the temporary exhibition of Jean Dubuffet which was a bit short but amazing. Loved it! The museum staff is really nice and helpful, they speak English decently, audio guide is given to you by default at entrance and is for free. Would have paid the fee if I was not there on a Sunday.

Free in the day I visited, it looks like centre Pompidou are getting ready for a new exhibition so we were restricted to the first floor. It's modern art, snake oil as far as I am concerned. I'm a heathen, when it comes to modern art but it interests me to witness what people get away with. I prefer photography or landscape art. Modern art is like the emperor with no clothes. Everyone is afraid to call it out but we queue up to see the royal rumble. In this case there was a room full of 1970's typewriters. Now that is not art, unless your telling me Stephen King wrote a novel on each one of them.
