Bar Pasaje de Madrid al Cielo — Restaurant in Maó

We would have loved to try this place but unfortunately we were turned away. We arrived (without reservation) and saw that it was (without exaggeration) more than 50% empty, and with little atmosphere to speak of. Despite this, we thought, based on previous good reviews, to give it a shot. However, we asked for a table and the person who spoke to us told us - with no regret- there were no tables available. It was quite shocking, none of the many tables available had signs indicating they were reserved, and those dining visibly empathised with our surprise. It’s a little tucked out of the way in Mahon, and clearly doesn’t rely on foot traffic. This was at 9:40pm - which is pretty normal Spanish dinner time, considering the place shuts at 11. Maybe they had all their bookings at 10pm tonight, but seemed unlikely. I never really review places but have travelled a lot and eat out a lot - I know what I experienced and it left a sour taste in what was otherwise a lovely...

Such a great surprise . We have been in beautiful spots and nice restaurants in Menorca. We have been very lucky.. Overall, the food has been good.. But nothing as delicious as the meal we had at “El pasaje, de Madrid al cielo”. Hidden gem in a very discreet space. The chef only provides fresh and excelent products. She is a magician . She can turn anything dull into something delicious. Not only comfort food. Ask her about any ingredient and she will tell you all about it. Roberto, her husband, makes you feel extremely comfortable at his home....

The cute couple from Madrid runs this place. We end up going there more than once a every month. I love how different the menu is from other Spanish restaurant. They have tapas, rice, steak till smash burger with homemade french fries!! The draft beer is different and you should try with their best gilda in mahon:))) In winter season they do amazing “cocido” madrid style. They don’t have many tables so better to call...
