Cafetería La Ventilla — Restaurant in Madrid

While on vacation last weekend, we had a truly authentic local experience at this beloved cafeteria located in the residential Chamartin district. I think 90% of the customers were locals, and some of them seemed to be regular ones. Although we didn’t know any cues at the beginning, the owner kindly gave us a table while the shop was almost fully packed and busy. He was also very patient with us when we ordered.

We had a ham sandwich and a cheese one. Both were super delicious! Particularly we were very impressed by the quality of the ham. The bread was very fresh and crisp. He also gave us a bottle of olive oil to add to the sandwiches, and it was really good as well.

Trabajando por la zona fui a comer cocido de menú del día. Muy bueno y sabroso. Sopa rica Plato con garbanzos,repollo,tocino,chorizo,morcilla,costilla adobada y no sé si era carne de cerdo o morcillo pero todo espectacular. Lugar perfecto para el menú diario, bien de precio y de buena calidad. Casero y con raciones muy buenas. Soy celíaca y siempre me cuidan mucho. Siempre hay alguna opción y tienen cuidado.
