Museo Metro Chamartín — Attraction in Madrid

Need to reserve times in advance with a reservation. Not toddler friendly in the sense of they can't go into cars and sit, and most of the things in display cases are not easily visible for toddlers because of height issues.

Thst said, an enjoyable way to spend a half hour to an hour. It is really worthwhile took be reasonable fluent in Spanish or to have a phone that can translate pictures from Spanish to English as all the signage is in Spanish. (Which is fair enough. This place is targeted at locals in Madrid. I have enough Spanish to understand things so not a concern.) Provides a really good history of the metro, with a focus on station construction and the cars.

A fascinating glimpse of the past with the original Metro carriages arranged for a viewing, though it’s a shame that you can’t go into at least one of them, to feel the atmosphere. Behind the carriages are items such as doorhandles to switching gear, arranged in viewing cases. TIP: if arriving by the Metro, don’t leave by the barriers to go to the upper concourse, because the Metro museum is at the level of these barriers on the left-hand side.
